I think amsterdam should be the mecca of ex msulims.

Walk around the red light district 7 times, and get more stoned than the devil does in saudi.

We should make a mission of it.  Who else is with me?   bunny

For those old enough to remember Khalid Abbas Dar's comic brilliance on PTV as well as the start of Pakistani hockey's downfall and of course old Urdu classical music!

@atheist.pk : there was some comic series from pak very popular in india during the 80s. i don't remember the name but i think it was 'bakra ..' something.

my uncles used to love that series. i am too young to know much from the 80s.

ps : i love the voice of ghulam ali too. sheer genius.

'Bakra Kistoun Pey' (Goats on Instalments) was amazingly popular comedy series esp. during the Eid-ul-Azha period in Pakistan. The way it chronicled people trying to buy sacrificial animals for Eid on instalment payments etc was hilarious!  Cheesy

Fifty-Fifty was also an insane hit from that very era!

Now PTV plays second fiddle and void of creative talent that has either gone too old, died, or taken over by the more flashy glitzy (and often less artistic) generation that has flocked to other more privately owned channels like Geo TV, Hum TV, ARY Digital etc.  Cry

    errr.. I am yawning

Oops I didn't realize that. I don't want allah to get angry, I forgot Allah likes Sneezing and hates yawning., Prophet PBUH said
    Quote
Hadith – Bukhari 4:509, Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet  said, “Yawning is from Satan and if anyone of you yawns, he should check his yawning as much as possible, for if anyone of you (during the act of yawning) should say: ‘Ha’, Satan will laugh at him.”

Hadith – Bukhari 8:242, 8:245, Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet  said, “Allah likes sneezing and dislikes yawning, so if someone sneezes and then praises Allah, then it is obligatory on every Muslim who heard him, to say: May Allah be merciful to you (Yar-hamuka-l-lah). But as regards yawning, it is from Satan, so one must try one’s best to stop it, if one says ‘Ha’ when yawning, Satan will laugh at him.”

Ditto here. I have grown to hate this annoying trend so much.

do you get indian satellite programming in pakistan? i think we get ptv here but no one watches it. or maybe we don't.

PTV is only watched by those that cant afford cable TV here (and that's a rarity).

Of course. The soap operas of Star Plus, Sony TV, and Zee have always been ridiculously popular among the bored housewives here. No proper story, no real content to pay attention to, just annoying dramatic music, camera angles, and overly dressed women in saris, makeup and jewellery.  wacko
