Motorways.
I think I said it before, I absolutely LOVE driving on motorways, specially during the night. I drove for 40 miles today for no purpose, just for the fuck of it and really enjoyed it. I mean if it wasn't for the fact that I felt guilty wasting my dad's money on petrol, I would've kept going for at least two more hours. I don't know what's about it that does it for me but I know this: when I'm driving on a motorway doing 80 MPH, chain-smoking, and listening to some AC/DC with the comfort of knowing I have a full tank of petrol and a reliable SatNav, I fell like I'm king of the world.
I'm also obsessed with motorways and roads in general. Like I go on Wikipedia, type M6, M25, or M8 and just read the entire article. I now know the routes of most UK motorways even though I probably won't need to use most of them at any point in the future. And my obsession doesn't stop there, I have a wish which is to drive on every UK motorway before I die.
I'm also fascinated by the advanced engineering skills, craftsmanship it took to build them. For example, I've been looking at
this picture of the M4/M25 junction for 10 minutes now just admiring the way the two motorways are connected and how the junctions is organized.
This is my wallpaper right now.
And it's not the same with driving in general. I've been driving for 6 years now and I don't really like driving inside cities.
So amateur psychoanalysts, what do you think the reason is? does it mean I'm adventurous or that I love freedom? did this post creep you out? do I need to see a shrink?
