    Ackie, saltfish and fried dumplings.  One of the west indian foods I made sure I learned to cook from the Jamaican chef in one of my old children's home.  I may just have to go and get these ingredients when I get some money.  I would sacrifice a day of eating issues for a plate of that right now.

    I love Jamaican food, especially the parties and the jerk chicken and rice and peas, never had ackee and saltfish (I can't get ackee nearby plus it has to be cooked properly or else death), Ive always wanted to try it, is it good?

    When I think of Jamaican food, I think of beef patty. Haven't had one in a long time, but those were good.

    It is extremely tasty with the saltfish and dumplings.  Never had it any other way so no idea how it tastes without the added burst of seasoning and salted fish.  All I know is it sits at the top of food that drives me crazy.

    I mean, I have an eating problem, but I would murder a plate of this and only feel bad after asking for more.  Grin

    Love Jamaican food too - not too keen on the saltfish though!

    Used to get Jamaican beef patties at a chip shop where I used to live - heaven!

    Jamaican rice, the jerk chicken and pork, can't beat it.

    my problem is jerk chicken still doesn't make chicken taste good enough to me anymore.

    chicken is the cheapest meat in the shops meaning I have eaten way too much chicken in my life.  I actually don't like chicken much at all now no matter how you season it.  Fish on the other hand........OMG I could die for fish.  I love fish.  Cry

    I also miss moroccan salted beef/lamb, fried with eggs and halal lard............but I can only look at that sort of meal now.  I couldn't eat it.  Way too fatty.  Grin

    Its chicken, pork, beef, lamb and lastly fish for me.

    I dunno, I just cannot get enough chicken - so versatile. Or maybe I'm just too lazy.

    Lamb I don't eat alot of generally to be honest - don't like its toughness - but like lamb mince and lamb skewer kebabs!

    OMG you have never tasted my roast lamb and prunes.  The lamb is so soft and tender it literally falls from the bone and melts in your mouth.

    I think it might be a psychological thing, like I just haven't eaten well cooked lamb, so I tend to avoid it based on that.

    My daughter wants to be one.  Have started giving her vegetarian options so she can see if she likes them.  She still eats meat but she keeps nagging about not wanting to so i am trying to find a way to give her food that caters to that.

    Just sucks that she hates vegetables so much.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  (for her anyway)

    I've been veggie for two years. Sometimes I wish I wasn't, it would be a lot easier, but the idea of eating meat just repulses me too much.
