There's no dress code. Some people don't even dress up.

I have regular, black, striped pants, but I decided to go for the more punky look.

Hmm... maybe... Just giving it a go. I might change my mind last minute and wear my black pants.

You know, I didn't even think of trying on a black shirt. I'll go to the store and see how it fits!

IDK, total black on top looks a bit much, 'top black heavy'. I think the white shirt with the waistcoat black was better, if I recall correctly.. -.- Not 100% cos you took them down!

I actually much prefer this look. The white was too bright. And since the vest is covering the shirt, it's not really adding "blackness" overall, just a bit of style. I think the tie balances the colour.
The white shirt made the suit look somewhat goofy. This is more settled down.

I much prefer the black shirt without the vest. With the vest, you might be right. But I think I'd wear the black shirt more often, whereas a white shirt I'd probably wear with other pants.
Maybe I should wear a white shirt for graduation and keep the black shirt for other occasions.

The tie is much better with the waistcoat. Without, it's too Travolta/gangster/mobile phone salesman.
I like the trousers. I have loads of big checks, bold stripes and bright colours in my (extensive) wardrobe.

I liked those pants so much when I saw them that I haggled the shopkeeper to drop the price because they were out of my budget.
They're from a boutique store in Vancouver.
I actually didn't buy them as suit pants, used to wear them with a t-shirt as "semi-formal" attire.

They'd be a bit much as part of a suit.

Good on you. Seriously. A lot of guys dress too safely. It's one thing to look good, it's another to do it with some personal flair.

Okay, so after much ado, I decided to go with the black shirt. The white one looks too waiter-y with the black vest and tie.

I'm pretty much set in my ways when it comes to clothing. I pretty much like Diesel jeans and polo tops or t-shirts. Preferably Diesel and old-skool style Adidas trainers.
