    Poor Rickon, nobody remembers him.

    The show is amazing. It has unmatched production design, sprawling sets, an interesting plot weaving some high fantasy elements with medieval politics. I could see it becoming considered one the of greatest of all time, if it isn't already.

    My only gripe however, is the lack of moral complexity and agency on some of the characters which were present in the book. Dany and Tyrion are way too good, Sansa is made into an object, and Stannis... well Stannis went from being an atheist in the book to a religious fanatic calling non-believers infidels in the show.

    Where is he anyway.  Was the wildling servant taking him to Jon Snow at Castle Black ?

    I wasn't surprised.  Joeffry was nothing but a celebrity king in the show anyways  Tywin Lannisters was the one who was actually ruling the whole time.

    Although I wonder if Joeffry's death might cause the King's Landing Baratheons to desert the Lannisters and join Stannis instead because he is the true heir to the throne.

    On the show, he was with Osha and Shaggydog (awesome name, by the way) heading to the castle of House Umber.

    Yeah, he's one of the four Stark kids out of five that still remain Tongue

    I'm not bothered by the lack of Rickon because he never did much in the books anyway, and if they start covering his story now, well... they can't. We haven't heard much from him since the ending of A Clash of Kings, and what we heard in Dance with Dragons was just hearsay. So all in all it makes sense.

    He went with the Osha, the wildling woman, but not to Castle Black.

    First he was going to the Last Hearth of the Umbers then to Jon. After meeting the wildlings, the boy warg and his sister they are going to see the 3 eyed crow so Bran can learn to warg.

    Seeing people on the internet argue that it wasn't rape is mind-numbing. And it completely messes up Jaime's character arc, too. Which is a shame, since he's one of my favourite characters in the books.

    It's weird that the rape scene is only out of place for those that have read the books. Having not read the books, it was just another day in Westeros to me. Just another day in the life of the Lannisters.

    It's odd isn't it. Jamie threw a child out a tower with intent to kill because he saw him banging his sister, the Queen which makes it an act of treason, which indirectly resulted in a war killing thousands. Yet, this is no longer the worst thing he's done.

    Another thing that pissed me off was the "Sansa has endured YEARS of Joffrey's torment." In the books it was more weeks/months. That line completely messes with the timeline of the show. Let's not even speak about how badly they messed up Brienne/Sansa.

    I really want to see how the showrunners handle the post-ASOS material. They've been fortunate in that the strength of the first 3 books lends itself well to a TV adaptation. Now the show becomes a slow moving political drama with little to no release in the way of action scenes. It'll be be even slower in the show than in the books due to them merging AFFC and ADWD. I'm apprehensive about how the next few seasons are going to work.

    Jaime's character arc post-release is supposed to be one of redemption and you really begin to sympathise with his character, with him becoming one of the more popular characters. Raping his sister really doesn't help and sets back his character development.

    I started reading the first book after watching the three first seasons. I think I enjoyed the book even more after watching the show first. It gives a whole new depth, and it's fun discovering little details etc that you weren't aware of in the show. Perhaps they changed the show vs the books way too much after first season that book fans get upset, haven't finished first book yet so I'll have to get back on that Smiley

    But I appreciate the show on many levels. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think when it is finished, it can be easily considered one of the greatest shows of all time.

    Watching the Purple Wedding again, and I’ve got to say it was nowhere near as enjoyable as the book. I’ll tell you why: yes, it was absolutely glorious watching Joffrey get what was coming to him, and the effects were brilliant. HOWEVER, Lena bloody Headey’s acting killed it for me.

    Yes, he’s her son, but did she have to be all genuinely distraught? The heart–wrenching grief of a mother seeing her son die in front of her in such a horrendous manner, her snivelling cry of: “My son!” Gah! Her wonderfully acted torment ruined any pleasure I would have taken in the death of a cuntsocket like Joffrey.

    I must be an odd one, because I already felt sorry for Cersei when I read the book  grin12

    Descent: I'm pretty sure they're going to find a way to ruin that scene. And the whole plot. It's brilliantly written as is, but if anyone can find a way to destroy it, it's David Benioff and DB Weiss. I believe in those guys  Afro

    I don't mind too much. I realize that the show and books are pretty much two different entities now.

    But still... an atheist calling someone an 'infidel' and burning him for being an unbeliever is a bit excessive. And a man who hates rape raping his sister...
