And hindus with their freedom from rules of religion, they have lot more rituals than any other religion also they have lot more books on religion. But one must realize that freedom they have is the key for them as it allows criticism and it is easy to convince them about the evils in religions and rituals.

Yes sir! You have got it right! The ultimate freedom you have is in declaring that you believe a part of it,most of it,or just this particular part or
nothing at all and not being adversely affected by it![You won't be killed for your religious views that's for sure!] But best of all, as far as religion goes, people mind their own bloody business, you have a plethora of choices as far as crazy rituals are concerned, but nothing that you see can be said to be typical of the religion because there's a mind boggling diversity of sub-cultures which absolutely zaps a Western mind that is punch drunk on monotheism and can't see anything beyond it.
Like you said there's always that room for improvement because a lot of people tend to prefer direct connection with reality rather than a direct connection with an elusive GOD,though they pay a lot of lip service to him.

The World is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.
