    We had a discussion on twitter with one of the leaders of Ikhwan in Britain about Qaradawi's views on apostasy. We said he should publically repudiate that and the Ikhwan dude went crazy saying 'Making demands like that isn't a way to have dialogue!'

    Yup that seems to be the reasoning behind the whole hijaab thing. Muslims think like this: Men don't need to wear it cuz women r "pure" but that there is a sexual pervert inside every man and he will lust after every women he sees.

    Couple days ago I was in my room and in my sis's room my mum and sis were looking at pics of relatives from some wedding or thing. I was like "meh" lets see who's pics their looking at. I was about to walk in her room and my mum said "no go away some of these girl have taken off their hijaabs in the pics"

    I did notice that there were also guys in the photos and in my head I was like " hypocrisy much?"  idiot2

    It's as if I was too perverted to be allowed to even see girls but my sis looking at guys in the pics is a totally different thing cuz she's a "pure" woman.

    Apostasy is only one of among many batshit views. Her supports Adolf Hitler's killing of the jews and he also condones Palestinian attacks on Israeli civilians.

    I remember finding it hard to condemn actions of other muslims when I was Muslim, even though I may have disagreed, Muslims are put in a precarious position in situations like this, as they have to pick sides and do not want to be seen as sideing with the enemy. So the best method is to just keep dodging the issue.

    It's hard for Islam to reinvent itself because there is such a strong influence on following the religion the way it is found in the text. Every Friday Simon I have been to in every part of the world I have visited, we heat the same opening.     You can't. When I was a Quran Only muslim I genuinely thought that would revolutionise the Islamic world within a century or two. But looking back, it won't ever happen, Quranism can't survive simply because there's hardly any dogma compared to Sunni/Shia Islam, not to mention all the different opinions.

    Ex-muslims will pave the path for a more liberal "Islamic" world one day Afro

    The reason muslims can't go Quran only or even interpret it metaphorically like xtians do with the bible is because without the hadith and sirah the Quran is just a bunch of random,disorganized, vague mumbled phrases thrown together in book format. 

    Take out the hadith and sirah and you literally have nothing to base an organized religion on.  Plus when you don't have hadith or sirah to tell you which verse abrogated which you are also left with a book filled with contradictions.

    Because conquest and slaughter has also been part of Islamic history and was done in the time of Muhammad so I guess they needed to make shit up to make the kaafir's conquests look worse than theirs.
