I never really found a good solution as far as fasting and maintaining a proper workout schedule. As far as muscle-building goes it's pretty much a pointless task. Even fat cutting cannot be incorporated since starvation periods this long will in fact increase fat retention. All in all, Ramadan is terrible for your physique.

That's something I hate right now. My parents won't let me go to the gym while fasting and then after iftar I'm taken to taraweeh. I wish I had a membership to a 24-hour gym. I'm losing weight. :(

Only two weeks until I leave for college, then I'll get back into working out.

Hey, there are plenty of exercises to maintain muscle mass without having to go to the gym, use your own body weight, push ups and the like, also go out to the park find a bar (kids playing areas) do pull ups etc
But if you are fasting for real, and not cheating, perhaps you should take it easy.

I'm up at night and I have a pair of those adjustable dumbbells, but no bench, so I'm limited in my workout.

Oh well, better to get something than nothing at all.

Right, i'm fucking getting sick of this, i've kept all the fasts so far and it's just fucked up my usual schedule of doing nothing from 10am onwards, to waking up at 1pm and doing fuck all till iftar time,

but seriously the hunger, bad breath, messed up eating and sleeping patterns is just too much, my life so far is already like an uneventful and mind-numbingly tedious episode of Hollyoaks, i really don't need all this extra shit just to underline how much i loath my life so far!!!

The fucked up thing is i don't know why i still continue to fast?!

I've been going to sleep about 9am and waking about 4pm LOL. Hmm, it's alright as long as I keep myself distracted from the thought of how hungry I am Smiley

Oh please, I used to fast and had to do the usual job with  8 am to 6pm in the bloody air-conditioned office (which made me freeze as  its cool in the UK anyway, and I wasn’t able to have any hot drinks) having to work with non Muslim colleagues with my bad breath and all (mind you I used to take a tooth brush and brush my teeth with water as much as I can.

But yeh doing it while having the faith and thinking you will get rewarded for your suffering  is one thing , but doing it while not believing in any good outcome is another !!

Being sick in the hospital on true pain medication seems the best way to get out of fasting. I have yet to fast Cheesy

As long as the "Muslim charity" actually helps people and doesn't use the money for dawah, I don't see why not.

im fine. the very first day i had pain in my right abdomen and was throwing up nothing. went to the ER and did a bunch of tests. it was a cyst on my kidney that ruptured blood and they kept me in the hospital for 5 days for observation.

Ok, I am sick to death of ramadan already.

    Know why?

because my bro who is living with me is fasting.  Wow how that killed the mood in my house, he is sooooooo fucking miserable.  Won't talk all day, sleeps in the day when he can, and walks around just generally pissing me off with all this islamic bullshit that is entering my house.

Asking me to help him figure out which way to pray banghead

I mean he is a miserable boring fucker anyway....but add fasting and I hate the atmosphere in my house.

This is what i remember ramadan being like.  Not all about how great it was breaking your fast with your family around, but the fucking misery of people during the day just because they can't eat or smoke.

Grrrr I swear, if it wasn't for my other douche brother living at my parents, I would send this brother back to my parents for the ramadan month just to keep this moodiness away from me.  But nooooo, oh no, this year I have to suffer through watching it.

I know I am going to explode soon.  This is bullshit man.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

Grin  yeah, it was smoking that made ramadan hard for me, not the food or the water, that shit is easy.

Yeah, smoking is the route to stop fasting, glad I started smoking at an early age, so have not fasted in years Smiley Other than that I will not advise anyone to smoke.

It'd be nice if yo post an intro as you share my sisters name Smiley WEll on Saturday my sister told me I hold my views about Islam just because I do not wanna fast and for charity, I'd give it to a deserving person irrespective of race or religion.

Actually, in the past I always gave my charity to homeless people, I know they may abuse it and use it for alcohol and drugs, but heck, that's not my responsibility.... at least that way I knew for sure my money is going to a person directly.

MAP was recommended to me, one Dr actually told me about cases that they helped, so I trust them, but its like any organisation, it has its overheads.. so am sure some of my money would be used for that.

I am contacted right left and centre from everyone collecting money for all the causes in the world, I am still thinking about what to do though.
