    Alright, another song for Sunbul:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwgQAnG7pWU

This is an old Muwashshah (sung by an Israeli Arab with an angelic voice), an all-time favorite of mine, that likely originates from Egypt, a liberal translation of which follows:

When she started to walk with a swagger
This young maiden of beauty and youthfulness
Amaan, amaan, amaan, amaan... (Musical filler word)

My love, her beauty has enchanted me
I would sacrifice myself for her; will we ever be together?
    Amaan, amaan, amaan, amaan...

She beckoned, in a second entrapping me
In a meadow, between the shadows
    Amaan, amaan, amaan, amaan...

Oh my promised one, oh cause of my perplexion
    Who will soothe the sorrows
Of love, of my burning heart
But for the queen of beauty?
But for the queen of beauty...
    Amaan... amaan... amaan...

    ---

Those of you who are musically inclined will have noticed the odd time signature of this song. These were common in oriental, especially Ottoman music.

Those of you who are Arabically inclined will have noticed that the masculine tense is used throughout the Muwashshah. This was a common practice in the days of yore when writing poetry about a woman (presumably using the feminine tense would make the poetry sound too 3eeb). I'm sure Sunbul will appreciate this duality.

Historical notes aside, enjoy the song, Sunbul! <3

omg! someone dedicated a song to me!  Thank you azuremist!  MWAH!   dance
That song has MANY memories associated with it.  One being a horse I used to
ride, named "Tequila" and I used to sing that song to her while riding, and she
would sway her head back and forth, seemingly in time to the music.
