    that muslimahs against FEMEN movement absolutely pissed me off. the entire thing started because of aminah tyler, and instead of standing up for moderate islam and condemning the tunisian religious authority for wanting to stone her to death, instead of showing concern for her disappearance, her admission to a psych ward, the threats to her life, they instead start taking offence at FEMEN's protest for aminah's rights.

    this was a disingenuous movement made possible by an intentional misrepresentation of what FEMEN was actually protesting. by twisting FEMEN's protest to make it sound like FEMEN was telling muslim women what to wear, western muslims found an opportunity to show off how they love wearing hijab. because this was more important than taking concern for aminah's life and in the process standing up against islamic misogyny.
    The right to think the unthinkable, discuss the unmentionable, and challenge the unchallengeable.
