13:3 "مَدَّ" Madda
15:19 "مَدَدۡنَـٰهَا" Madadanaahaa

and is there anyone who can explain to me what the variation means please?

Looking at the context:

Madda = as in "he spread it out",
Madadnaahaa = as in "we spread it out"

Sorry I edited my post above (slightly) just after you quoted it. But to answer your question, yes, they are the same word.

yup same .. mada "he did it" al ba7r ... spread out the sea
madadnaha "we did it" naha should relate to something .... the earth is brown and madadnaha (we spread ( it(naha)) out

So in 13:3 is it not "Madda" that means spread but another word?

no it is spread out both are the same ... one maddadnaha is a word with more than just the verb (mada)=(to spread out)
it has a (naha) meaning (it). so its (we spread it out)

he (mada) the earth = he (has spread) the earth

and the earth (madadnaha) =and the earth (was spread "it"(hidden in english not the case in arabic) out)(naha = "it "refers to the earth in this sentence)

its just a different sentence structure
