    Sometimes. What I read depends what I am reading at the time. Might be a newspaper, or a book, or a magazine.

    Yes I do. I bring in whatever I'm reading at the moment.

    Sometimes I don't bring any book so that I won't be distracted, because I find that I do my deepest and most meaningful thinking while on the can.

    No, I get pins and needles if I sit on the toilet for too long, so I tend to get it over with as quick as possible.

    Plus, if I'm on the toilet for long enough to warrant reading time, I'm probably constipated and far too busy rocking back and forth to read.  Grin

    You know actually I find the reverse for me, the minute I eat proper food I am backed up to the point of pain.  If I don't eat, I am good to go, cos I don't need to go all that often.

    i've done pretty much everything on the toilet apart from praying, it's the one place that you can get lost, in that no one will bother you, not in some deep spiritual sense btw!
     
    I also suffer from pins and needles and it gets really bad, blood circulation gets cut off to my right foot (not my left strangely) and it hurts like a bitch when i try to walk out. I was surprised when an old Muslim mate told me he also went through the same thing, it helped in knowing that i'm not alone in experincing 'dead foot' Cheesy

    I remember once when my aunt came over to use the toilet and she was in there for soo long that we forgot she was in there or that she was still in our house, maybe that says more about how bad our relationship is with her, than actually we have shit short-term memories(?)

    still wonder what she was doing in there all that time, actually,might be best if i stopped...

    Nah, I'm pretty goal-oriented. I go to the bathroom for whatever it is that needs to be done and get out. Plus, I'm in the same boat as Berbs in this case since my arse gets numb after I sit there for too long.

    Any decent toilet should have reading material to hand. For emergency bottom-wiping purposes, if for nothing else.

    On that note, I rate Private Eye as a 8/10 (just absorbent enough not to fall apart in the hand) and The Economist as 2/10 (non-absorbent to the point of uselessness).
