It would have been more interesting if it were muslim scholars that comes here without being trolled or bombarded with questions by many members rather than just ordinary or uneducated follks that can easily be outdebated but the chances of that happening is slim to none.

It would also be nice if one of them can be invited for one on one debate, not just salafis or hardcore sunnis but sufis,quranists and others to gain more perspectives from them.

Muslim apologists don't get 'bombarded' when they come here, in my experience. they just get asked questions they can't answer. and then feel persecuted.

I said muslim SCHOLARS or imam or "mallam"(as we call them from here), but if you are really referring to them as muslim apologist then that's pretty arrogant coming from you,billy.

Well they're all apologists in the sense that when they come on here they offer aplologia for the religion.

In general I agree though with the sentiment that I'd definitely appreciate having a higher standard of such folks to engage with in these debates. Sorry, but the M.Rasheed and thaman type full blooded wtfers aren't doing it for me anymore I'm afraid.

nothing arrogant about it. Apologetics is the discipline of defending a religious position. Muslim scholars engage in apologetics about Islam.

Fine, let's go along with your own term just for the sake of discussion( even though I personally dont approve the term to be used to label a religious or theological scholar). I still disagree because for the last four years since I have been in this forum we haven't attracted any scholars or high standard types to engage in debate with, just the basic minded types so far and that aint enough. Also forget about the likes of Hamza.

Most scholars, ie professions, are busy teaching, lecturing or writing books. Most are bright enough to realize they can not provide enough supportive evidence to make a truth claim of their religion with a high probability. They know it is a matter of faith. In my experience it those that adhere to empiricism that come here putting forwards claims of true beliefs or true knowledge. They either missed religious lectures on the faith component or follow the same empiricism they both denounce and accept when convenient.
