Perhaps it's because there are certain situations where one needs to learn from their mistakes w/o their help. That is part of the process of spiritual evolution.

Perhaps that is what made you hold become a muslim, thankfully you still managed to see the bull through the Islam whilst still having that core inner spiritual belief.
