What science is or isn't about is perhaps a tangent from this thread, the only point I wanted to make was that science cannot settle a truth claim such as 'choice is an illusion'.
I am not referring to these theories as speculation in a naive sense. I agree that there are good scientific reasons for these theories to hold.
My point is rather that even the best scientific theory cannot be called true so we cannot settle any questions with their claims.
that is actually the definition of Scientific investigation/exploration. Yes you are right Z10., however good a scientific theory/hypothesis may be and how many number experimental results may support that theory, still one can ask questions and one can improve the concepts with in that model., But the other side is utter humbug and nonsense..
When I say other side..I mean the religious side their scriptures, their statements and their answers on big questions. Even if those statements from scriptures are remotely true, still to improve upon them is to question and to experiments with them..
