    The idea here is that the systems we are a part of force us to compete and thus perpetuate suffering. Socialization only works in tempering the competitiveness of non-jerks, thus these attempts will not work in reducing suffering via competition, as jerks always rise to dominate a system regardless of socialization. Thus as dominant strategies cannot help but be competitive, ergo we are forced to compete and perpetuate suffering.

    Yeah, this argument needs polishing, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway.
