    Ah, that's not a problem any more. All my aunties used to say "it will be your turn soon!" at weddings, but they stopped doing that when I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.  cool2

    very beautiful story, Ephemeral. At least the muslims who were around can understand and not hate you for your beliefs. A few muslims I know shat brix when I told them I'm an atheist.

    Thank you Moe, glad SOMEONE appreciates it Grin.
    Yes, I know there are others who wouldn't appreciate it. Those are people I stay away from, not because I'm scared but because talking to them would be like talking to a wall.  Are you out to your parents? And do you live with them still?

    @ Moe, I would like to read about your experience of revealing your apostacy to your parents. Have you posted anything about that experience on here? If so point me to the right spot.

    And I hope things are at least okay with the rents now :/

    @Moe
    I've just realised that your story is not too dissimilar to mine, except that you're in Canada and I'm in Britain.  I hope you are in good spirits.  This forum is great for that. Afro

    What a beautiful story Ephemeral, so proud of you.   Thank you sharing it with us.  Smiley

    I remember when I told my best friend that I was an atheist and I was awfully afraid of rejection, but fortunately she was quite understanding about it and accepted me.  That day I was so ecstatic and felt a little more hopeful.

    Hope is great, it's what keeps us going on.

    @ Ephemeral, here is my story http://www.councilofexmuslims.com/index.php?topic=9113.msg229989#msg229989 I don't know if I explained a lot in my story, but I wanted to keep it as short as as I can.
