2) will start depositing in his trachea and bronchi. Then the alveoli (lung chambers where the CO
2-O
2 exchange takes place) will get fucked-up.
But if he keeps smoking 3 packs a day for 20 years, the risk for laryngeal and lung cancer will exponentially increase. Ii bet in 10 years his lungs will look totally black and dim in an X-ray.
