well, the idea of eugenics was basically this.. Selecting only the humans with the best traits to pair up , so that after a few generations everyone gets smart, sexy, strong... But the downside of this idea is that fat bastards like me would be put down (killed) since i guess that I don't fit their idea of a perfect human ...

There were two problems that I can think of.

1: Fat/Ugly are subjective. If you took the top 10% of slim people in the world and eradicated the rest then within a generation or two the people at the top of the new "fatty" scale would be considered fat.
2: If you reduce the size of the gene pool you run the risk of having no human with a suitable DNA mutation to survive a new environmental change (such as a virus), and increase the number of occurrences of genetic diseases.

Just look at the size and muscular definition of that beast. Amazing achievement of artifical selection. Just goes to show how important genetics are and how they are the ultimate defining factor for all of us, no matter how much we like to deny it. Eugenics pretty much has it right if the species wants a good future, but it's just too nasty for us to stomach. Besides, it's suck for 90% of us non-alpha males/females.

Eugenics can be tempting for certain traits, but think about it, if you had the power to carry out Eugenics, what would you select for? Big strong muscles? tall? good-looking? skinny long-distance runners? skin colour? less hairy? more hairy? brainy? good immune system? less prone to heart disease? or diabetes? etc etc
There are too many variables.
There's already a fair amount of (natural) selection going on when people select their partners.

That's true, it isn't that simple. Because humans, unlike other animals, have multiple useful traits that might be mutually exclusive. So I guess, aside from ethics, there is practicality and confusing standards. Of course you can instead focus on what traits to *weed* out. Like, compassion and humanity aside, sterilising mental and physical retardation is genetically a good idea. And I'm sure lots of people would cry foul at such an idea (I would too). But lets face it.. it happens natually anyways... very few healthy humans will get with a girl/guy with a deformity or disability. Okay, I can't speak for everyone, but I would never. Does that make me evil?
