Which is what you did to your mother when you were inside her.  Does she think you ruined her life?

    She wanted a child.

Do you think she had the right to terminate your life when was in its initial stages?

    Yes.

It doesn't have to be that way with contraception

    It can still be.

    Quote
That can be done in a way through surrogacy.  How about both parents taking some fucking precautions instead of demonising the foetus as you are doing?

If they take precautions and she still gets pregant, is it immoral for her to abort it?

Do you know what a morning after pill is and what it does?

Yes I do have an idea.  They prevent fertilisation or implantation.

I've already told you, I could not get myself to agree with it.  As regards what is moral and immoral, those are concepts which have no meaning for me.  I leave those to the priests.

Ah yes, of course. The majority of the people who just can't get themselves to agree with a woman terminating a pregnancy seem to be men.

But you were earlier saying that human life begins at conception, not implantation. They are not literally 'morning after' pills. You can take them several days after sexual intercourse.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

    Abortion debate, again?

    Implantation of what?

Oh FFS!!! The embryo to the wall of the uterus.  There are several types of those pills.  The earlier the stage they act on the better.  One has to be realistic

I did, but at the same time I have to be realistic and I have to accept that other people don't have the same standards as I do.  I am not against them but I don't like them either.  As I said before the earlier the stage they act on the better.  Not all act on the same stage if I recall well.

There will be no progress because I consider a zygote as having human life and you don't.

So at which point along the scale of life, which you say begins at conception and ends at clinical death, does killing human cells become murder?

Personally I think that if conception is avoided or prevented in the first place it would be better, that's what I would only feel comfortable with.

That's even worse. Cuz she thinks washing eggs down the drain is a heinous murder. Yet she'll stand and watch and do nothing to stop them.

you act as if i have the power of doing something...im just a human u know i cant stop people from going to the abortion clinics

You have my answer, don't you?  I think that human life starts at conception so by that reasoning murder becomes so after that stage.  Naturally it sometimes cannot be avoided and it is better to act as soon as possible.

So, if an embryo has full human rights, does an abortion have the right for a murder trial?

That all depends on what the state and its laws.  What I think is irrelevant.  If it is carried out in the late stages when the foetus is almost fully human then yes personally I think it should be a criminal offence.  However starting witchhunts against women have abortions and hurling abuse at them and demonising them as some pro lifers do is not the way to go about things..  I am simply stating my personal thoughts and I can appreciate that is a very complicated situation with no easy answer.  One has to be realistic.

^^lol, sorry. I didn't mean to be derogatory.

I'm just saying if you think it's murder, wouldn't you want the law to legislate the act as a crime which should be punished?

Witchunts and abortion bombing are red herring. Do you think a more regulated legal procedure should be applied to apprehending and bringing fetus murderers to trial? The same standard police and justice procedure that we use for all other murderers?

    ^^lol, calm down.

Yes I would want there to be a law to protect the foetuses but one has to be realistic given the complexity of the situation.  Punishing the women would be counter productive and silly and it could set dangerous precedents given the enforcement by the state.  Enforcing such a law alone would be difficult.  I might dislike certain methods used, but I cannot put a woman who terminated her pregnancy in it is initial stages, after her contraception failed in the same category of a child murderer either.  They are still different.

I would much rather see the promotion of methods which prevent contraception altogether and a reduction in the other methods rather than enforcement by law.

Ideally yes but it is unfeasible in our situation for many reasons.  It would also be unjust for the mothers in several ways, given the fact that not every option may be available to them, to be prosecuted

  • Re: Who else is still a virgin?
     Reply #476 - December 09, 2010, 01:31 AM

I don't consider abortion murder. In the first trimester, they're nothing more than cells the size of a tumor... and most likely likea tumor. Plus, people have spontaneous abortions or miscarriages all the time.
