I think that we must get the hell out of Earth within the next 50 Million Years. Sounds possible to me!

Probably the resources will run out, and then world war 3 will happen, using nuclear powers; and we'll kill our own world off.

I think everyones forgetting the almost certain scenario that cats continue to populate and distribute themselves into every household until they realize they outnumber us 3:1
They don't do well 1 on 1, but they often fight as a unit.

Wouldn't be the end of the world per-se, but the end of humanity as we know it.

Either that or religious people f*ck us over somehow, 50/50 really.

the key to salvaging humanity is energy. given enough energy, there will be no shortage of food, materials or water. if controlled fusion works (which doesn't look very likely now), we're through.

This is a fantasy. The reality is that the rich will always have an advantage over the poor. Wars are fought, resources are hoarded while the poor starve. I like Q-Man's answer the best.

The future of our world is a holy war between Djjal (one-eyed man) and Jesus (guy with the beard) on an epic scale using... swords... ahem... in order to reclaim earth for Muslims. Then, shortly after victory is achieved and peace on earth is established, god will rather cleverly blow the earth up anyway after bringing everyone out of their graves using a trumpet-playing angel called Azrael.

Oh and all this takes place over 50,000 years. So I'd say we're good for time.

I like that better than global warming.
