    or flowers that need to be protected from just anyone touching so that it doesn't get damaged (as the Talib who oversaw the killing of women in Ghazi stadium in Afghanistan once put it).  Assuming the lollipop would get licked at some point, putting the wrapper back on would make it stick horribly and increasingly difficult to take off, rendering the lollipop useless.

    That's how they think sadly. Women are candy, lollipops, gems, diamonds....etc not human beings but valuable objects that must be hidden and "protected" by their temporary owner (dad) until given to their permanent owner (husband).

    Its basically saying that women without hijab / burqa / niqab are rape fodder, and men should be expected to rape or molest them. It insults all women and all men too, by asserting as a fait accompli the nature of men to molest and rape upon invitation when a woman is 'uncovered'. Its doesn't oppose this idea, meaning men are in ways not totally responsible for sexual crime, and that men have no agency or responsibility for themselves. Its says that women who are not 'covered' and are molested or raped in some way deserve it for not wearing hijab / burqa.

    Its absolutely appalling. But it does surmise neatly in visual form the basis of the whole issue and the utter misogyny and warped morality and thinking that lies behind the issue of hijab / burqa. Nasty, nasty, nasty.

    This has been on there for months, if the conversation ever leads that way, I certainly will. We have had discussions where I've told her that I had no respect for individuals who based their assessment of my character on a piece of cloth.

    The other point that stumps believers is that the ubiquity of homosexuality means men are also subject to the male gaze and male proposition. As such men should also wear the equivalent of hijab / burqa in order to protect them from the attention of gay men.

    Its just taking the logic to its fullest extent. If women must cover themselves to guard them from the sexual advances of men, then men should also cover themselves to save them from the sexual advances from fellas who are attracted to men.
