    I'm so glad I declined the invitation to appear on a Press TV program debating Apostacy with Tariq Ramadan - amongst others. I just know how they would have manipulated and edited it.

What's interesting though is why Ramadan pushes this idea that Western society needs to evolve beyond one that 'criticises' - its because he doesn't want Islam to be criticised, so that it can be unopposed, and he uses the rhetoric and language of multicultural understanding and the Left to do so.

    Muslim apologists have to use the rhetoric of the left.  Self critism is a very useful tool to reflect on society.  Those who would tear down the whole edifice take that self critique and turns it into a propaganda tool.  It takes something meant to cause reflection into something that condemns the whole system.  The soviets did the same with American self critism, taking articles and plays that was made to critique society and turned out propagation pieces " detailing how terrible and oppressive it is in their own words".  

    Muslim apologists are no different, the actual purely Islamic critique of non Muslim societies are almost the same as the religious right in America.  In other words abysmally poor to the point of being obnoxious, ( homosexuals destroy society, we are all doomed without god). Instead they co-opt leftist intellectual arguments like Chombsky and leftist rhetoric even though most islamists do not advocate anything near what most leftists advocate, ie a change in within the current system of liberalism and human rights in order to achieve goals.
    So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

    Ramadan wants Western secular societies to 'evolve' past a culture that criticises and passes judgment, because he views it as an affront against the dignity of those that don't share the same values that might not be congruent with them. And this is the Left / multicultural statement at its plainest. But Ramadan is calling for a culture of stagnation, and he argues that in order to stigmatise judgment of Islam. Because whilst he thinks Western secular democracies should 'evolve' out of judgment, you can be sure Islam's sureties and judgments won't be challenged by him. Judgment is bad, unless its the judgments of religion. Once again, its a one way street.

    Its amazing that this mediocre creep has been so elevated by the Guardian Left. He's getting found out now, though.

    lol Revolutionary in the title of the state government always tickled me.  The same thing exists in Mexico were the Institutional Revolutionary Party has been in power for over 90 years.  Once you've been in power for so long, at at time do you stop being relvolutionry and become the status quo?
