I don't listen to what such politicans say all I can hear is "blah blah blah" *yawns*

Just reading what they say makes me sick!

    Did or didn't he say:

“Mubarak has been an ally of ours in a number of things. And he’s been very responsible on, relative to geopolitical interest in the region, the Middle East peace efforts; the actions Egypt has taken relative to normalizing relationship with – with Israel. … I would not refer to him as a dictator.

It can't be a misquote, seeing as others are quoting him as saying the same thing:

Perhaps we also shouldnt assume that Islamists will automatically screw everything up (as if it isnt completely messed up right now).

Look at the AKP and its success in stabilizing and helping the Turkish economy to grow.  We have to stop with the perpetual boogeyman reflex everytime we discuss politics in the Muslim world.

The Brotherhood is not the AKP which, notwithstanding the hysteria of the right-wing, is no more theocratic in nature than the German Christian party. The aggressively secular military would boot them if they so much as detected that the prime minister was playing to the gallery of the hot-for-Shariah crowd.

But your wider point is well taken. Islamism is not Bin Ladenism. As the case of Lebanon demonstrates, towelheads can be co-opted by the establishment. All political movements begin with radical manifestos and impassioned rhetoric of ushering in the New Jerusalem and end predictably in champagne toasts to the monarchy. It's all very well promisng the earth when you're in opposition, but made accountable to the electorate, radicals shed their luster. Such has been the legacy of all oppositionists since the first advanced ape put on a tie, cultivated a frown and set out on a speaking tour.

Well it is PBS free to public., I didn't hear he say that,  so  I say it is a "Misquote"  and it could as well come from republican gang..  again in this video "he didn't say that"

Moreover people in responsible position can not just say "Mubarak you are dictator and you are criminal"  they have to use appropriate language ..

1339: "The pro-democracy leader, Mohamed ElBaradei, is reportedly trapped inside a mosque in the Cairo suburb of Giza, outside which hundreds of riot police are deployed, according to the Reuters news agency. Tear gas is being fired onto nearby streets to prevent anyone from leaving, and several cars have been set on fire."

12.59pm: In another extraordinary audio report Jack Shenker in Cairo reports on signs that the police are siding with the protesters. He saw a senior police officer discard a teargas canister to signal to protesters that he was on their side

he will make a good president and very good interim president  to get free and fair elections going.

well as far as LIFE LING is concerned.  However good a person may be and good intentions he/she may have  to start  with   ..

"Power Corrupts,   absolute Power corrupts absolutely" ..  and this life long presidentship of a person leads to that path..

What's the use of assuming the reigns of power if some catamite will undo everything you've done after five years? You've got to hang on by the finger nails till your spirit takes life. Anything else is moral cowardice. True or false?

ah.ha! for that not to happen., the position should not be person centric  but should run on basic principles, so the next guy can not change the basic principles of county constitution..  People must be a vigilante to the democracy with freedom of expression and freedom to question being the no-1 priority..
