  • Islam and the Geo-centric Universe
     OP - January 28, 2011, 10:54 AM

I am looking for an article that proves that the Quran believes in a geo-centric universe. But one that address the issue comprehensively. Can anyone help?

Take the Pakman challenge and convince me there is a God and Mo was not a murdering, power hungry sex maniac.

Even if geocentric model of the universe is correct ( BIIIIG IF)   and even Muslims intellectuals extract such information from Quran.,   It doesn't mean   Quran is word of Allah because it is predicting geocentric concept of the Universe.,  it simply means the writers of Quran copy/pasted Greek stuff in to a Arabic booklet

I took my video down.  The reason was I intended to read the Quran without human thoughts and show why it seems to show a geocentric universe, and that if it hints at a geocentric universe then it could be improved.

When I look at tafsirs for those verses though they seem to imply a completely different meaning.  So in the name of integrity I have taken it off until I can look into it further and then either dump it or revise it.

I suspect proving a flat Earth will be much easier though.

I don't come here any more due to unfair moderation.

Just because Muslims can reinterpret those verses, it shouldnt mean that the video is defunct.  Point is that until science proved otherwise and there was no bias leading in any direction, ancient muslims (& even some modern day muslims) believed that the universe was geocentric.  And the verses point in that direction too.  It was a brilliant video, dont let the apologia get the better of you!

No, but when there is a hadith in which Muhammad explains what a verse is supposed to mean and it contradicts how I have interpreted it then that's a different thing completely Smiley

Integrity is important. People don't disprove the strongest part of your argument, they always disprove the weakest and then ignore the rest.

Why dont you delete that bit out, or if you dont have the time you can correct that directly on the vid by using youtube comments.  The rest of the vid was otherwise spot on.

I will review the whole thing.  No point removing a single part only to have to remove another in the future.  There is no rush :-)

A book whose god fails to mention a vital human organ like brain. Do you think such a god would even know what universe consists of? Unlikely!

The most merciful Allah, who is more merciful than your own mortal mother, is capable of punishing you for eternity for a finite sin committed in a finite lifetime with finite knowledge, while your mother nor any living creature that is NOT a sadistic mother fucker would never commit such an act.

Mo never mentioned the human brain for a reason - because it was his worst enemy

Rationalizer, that video was simply your best work! Bring it back sooner rather then later. I have shut many muslims up with that video.
