  • Help for ex-Muslim to escape into new life
     OP - March 07, 2011, 04:33 AM

Hi. I am an ex-Muslim livin in the UK. I am wanting to escape from the burdens that the Muslim community I live amongst place on me. I believe in womens rights of that defined by the United Nations as well as freedom of religion. I am 21 at the moment and want to work with others in my position and with my views. I am wanting to get residency in America but im not sure how feesable that would be.

Hi and welcome to the forum Smiley

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

Residency in the US depends on a few issues such as money, educational status, marriage status, etc

Hey, welcome to the forum. If you are British citizen and have some professional qualifications, you can search for job in US. You can get H-1 visa. If you still need further studies you can apply for admission in a University. You can later on work out permanent residency. But for student or work visa, you do need to show that you are not planning to stay there permanently but you do maintain a residence outside otherwise your visa application would be rejected.

Welcome Sajid, nice to see you again Smiley

You could additionally ask on expatforum.com - but it will be much easier to move to a different area within the UK than it will to add travel costs and visas into the mix.

I don't come here any more due to unfair moderation.

    ^^  +1

Have you come out to your Muslim family/friends about your apostasy?  If you are still financially dependent on your parents, it might be wise to stay in the closet for now.  That's what many young apostates on this forum do.

Hello. Thank you for you replies. I am not dependant on my family. I think the best course of action would be to move away. I have been abused badly when I was in my teens by some Muslims. I believe that what they did was because of values and temperments inherant among many Muslims. If I moved to a place with liberal people, i'd still have the mental scars, and the bigger issue of how much of the Muslims in the world live and think and behave compared to the rest of the worlds people today, especially those of western nations, would lose precedance. But I want justice and liberty to prevail.

Perhaps we can heal your scars. You've come to the right place.

I'm open for debate (of why we should re-/embrace Islam), but I will no longer participate in this forum. Message me if you need anything. Good luck and may you all find your way... again...
