  • A question
     OP - March 28, 2011, 10:47 AM

Long time ago, I was in a place, the light went off, the friend of mine said, it could be a Ghost/Jin, I said, I thought in Islam you can not see the Jins/Ghosts, she said, well it could be a Non-Muslim, as the Non-Muslim Jins/Ghosts roam around this world.

What did she mean by this, can anybody educate me on this?

What she meant was "Oh yes, you are right.  Please immediately believe this bullshit I made up so I wouldn't look like a fucking idiot."

It's easy to confuse the two statements.

I don't come here any more due to unfair moderation.

I have heard this kind of thing before when I use to attend a Islamic grammer school in the UK. is that the Muslim soul rests in the grave until day of judgement while the Non-Muslim roams around enjoying the last moments of their life etc etc. I know its all supersitious bullshit, but what made them come up with such a idea.

    Thanks for your quick response

Muslims are supposed to believe in invisible spirits called djinns, which influences their daily lives. The Arabic word for a mad man is majnoon which means ridden by a djinn. There is a non-Muslim Djinn that causes trouble to followers of Islam, the Kafir djinni influences the abnormal behaviour of patients with psychiatric disorders. With this knowledge the treatment now becomes straightforward, to beat the djinni (by beating the patient) and the djinn will leave!

Psychiatric disorders are still treated this way in many Islamic countries.  Its sounds particularly harsh when it is Allah who in the first place created them “And the djinn he created from a smokeless flame of fire.” (Quran 55:15)

Yet extraordinarily according to Islamic knowledge, if you dont want to be beaten up for having a psychiatric illnesses  you might want to eat more dates.

Sahih Bukhari Vol.7, Bk.65, No356: Allah's Apostle said, "He who eats seven Ajwa dates every morning, will not be affected by poison or magic on the day he eats them."
