Does it resemble of any of Kenny G's music?  He's not one of their main sources of influence as far as I'm aware.

lol.  To show my age I didn't know Bowie wrote it first.  I heard the Vanilla Ice sample and thought wow that is a good beat. After hearing Bowie's song for the first time I was like "This is badass"

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

Heh, me too. I discovered the original through the Vanilla Ice sampling controversy just after "Ice, Ice Baby" came out. So Vanilla Ice wasn't all bad-- exposed more people to the original than otherwise would have heard it.

David Bowie should thank Flinkel Van Inkel (Vanilla Ice's Christian name) for the restoration of his career.

I can't believe some of you didn't know the original - and btw David Bowie does not need his career resurrected - nor does Freddie Mercury - both are legends.

    She is so beautiful
I've got no words to describe
The way she makes me feel inside
    I'm flying solo
As free and as light as a bird
yet I could lay my wings down in a moment
    To guard and comfort her

    She is so beautiful
    light-filled, loving and wise
    Laughter dancing in her eyes
all my road is before me
And I never did plan on a wife
yet she's the most beautiful soul
I ever have met in this life

For she is like a song
she is like a ray of light
    She is like children praying
like harps and bells and cymbals playing
And she is like a wind
    moving, soothing, bringing joy
    And here am I, destroyed
    she is so beautiful
I don't know what I'm going to do when I leave
    except grieve

come with me on the journey under the skin
come with me on the journey under the skin
we will look together for the pan within
close your eyes breath slow & we will begin
close your eyes breath slow & we will begin
to look together for the pan within, within.... ohhhh

swing your hips, loose your head & let it spin
swing your hips, loose your head & let it spin
we will look together for the pan within
close your eyes breath slow & we will begin
close your eyes breath slow & we will begin
to look together for the pan within, within.... ohhhh

put your face to my window, feel the night full treasure
the wind is delicious, sweet & wild with promise of pleasure
the stars are alive, and nights like these
were born to be, sanctified by you & me
    lovers, thieves, fools & pretenders
and all we gotta do, all we gotta do,, all we gotta do, all we gotta do
all we gotta do is surrender
