So no, it is not easy to come out as gay to specially a muslim family.. Not at all..

Why is that? Surely being an apostate is worse than being gay? Or is it not to the eyes of Muslim parents?

Hell no! being gay is much more difficult than apostate..
It includes self esteem issues. Like people having disgusting feelings about my sex life.
Religion, you can argue easily, providing them proofs.

I do think there are both communalities and differences. I can imagine what Muddy says, that being gay has some additional 'personal' acceptance issues connected to it. But I think the simularities are striking enough to base my hypotheses on. We'll see how it works out! @Shattered: I'm sorry, I had to close it down because now that the hypotheses are out, answers are too vulnerable to bias (and would therefore not be valid anymore). @Alex: that's just not possible. @Jinn and Tonic: that is interesting.. I will look at the differences between converts and those born into Islam, and I'll keep your explanatory remark in mind.

Fair point. I'm lacking articulation to make my point that I think Muslims are far harder to convince than a Christian. Averagely speaking piggy

    yep, I agree

I felt that your discriminatory inclusion criteria were more than a little unfair. Ex-Muslims only eh? What about us, the non-Muslims, not to mention those still in Mo's private members club? In protest at this partitionist bullshit, I'm reverting. My beard is soon to be long and flowing and my tolerance of all here present is on the rapid descent. I hope you're happy SuzanneB, I really do.

Not to push or anything but I've been waiting to see the results for ever! Do you have any news on when your awesome project will be done?

    Thanks!

Colour me impatient, but it's almost two months now, I'm just curious about the progress (I know it sounds a bit rude, but it should be a compliment, this is groundbreaking stuff and I'm really anticipative so I can show the results to some people I kn0w). Anyway, I'll wait a bit longer before asking again.

Suzanne's in the midst of moving having completed her research so you might have to wait a little longer until she's settled and has time to write a summary for everyone. Good things come to those who wait. But I'll send her a nudge!

Thanks for the update Chris (sorry for the antipative impatience)-regards to Suzanne and I hope she settles in well!

I wonder if she is stressed anyway to get this completed. She's a good person and will share the results afterwards, no worries.
