It’s hard to say what Trip Hop is. Many of the iconic artists considered Trip Hop defy classification and acknowledge no boundaries between genres. But it is essentially the sound of mid-90’s British post-acid experimental underground, a bohemian collective of musical ideas, and there are patterns for your ears to find. It typically makes use of hip hop drum breaks, trippy ambience, soulful vocals, as well as that groovy, smoky, sexy jazz vibe.
