Sorry you asked me something and i didn't answer...i live in a small and poor european country , i am in PhD study now (cancer research in a hospital), but later i might continue elsewhere.

Sorry to bump a somewhat old thread, but I had to give you major props for your story. I'm a grown ass man and probably will never apostate to my fam, at least not anytime soon.
Not sure if you posted this in another section of the forums (I'm actually navigating the forum using a touchscreen tablet, which is kinda tricky), but whatever happened over the summer?

Wow you pretty much summed up most of Islams bullshit in a couple of paragraphs (which was really funny too). I know it sucks that you can't tell your parents and all (neither can I since I'm 14) but think on the bright side: you only have a couple of years left with them. After that your free.

Actually your post was nice, being an Athiest is an gift that not many in this world can claim. I love Atheism because it gives me the freedom to be truly Theistic now i can read the Bible,Quran,Hindu Scripture, Buddhist, Tao, Science, western and eastern Philosophy or whatever with a free mind and take what i want, in other words i can cherry pick what is best for mel. I have taken a lot of good from all the books. It is a beautiful luxury to be an Athiest to be in wonder and amazement of life, to go to movie and enjoy it without guilt to go out with friends and have fun and have no guilt what so ever for haveing fun. Life is beautiful when your willing to let go and be yourself.

However you dont have to wear in on your sleeve that your an Atheist, wait for the right time and even if it does not come it does not matter.

My plan is to wait 5 years, finish my uni studies, lay claim on my master degree, find a job, get a house, move out, invite the family on a Bon Voyage-party, serve them wine and bacon and when they ask why I'm serving a haram meal, I'll tell everything.

It will most certaintly distinguish between real family and those who put ancient superstition before family ties. Good riddance on the latter ones.

Until then, my sobbering excuse of a practicising Muslim son will continue as the greatest acting performance ever accomplished. I even woke up the family for the Eid-prayer today.

The more they think I'm a mutation between a promising Imam and a prayer machine, the harder will the sudden consumation of booze and smelly swine legs hit them.

Ah, I'm still high from yesterday.

Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it.
