The real hell is here, now. All the fear and worrying over what will happen after your physical body becomes worm food, is wasting precious time that you could be using for something enjoyable.

Just do no unnecessary harm to others, and live your life.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I remain.

The way I got over my fear of hell is quite interesting.

I remember borrowing a book from my local library about the subject Hell in different mythologies. I recognized quite early on how similar the description of Hell in Islam is to all of these apparent mythological religions. In particular I remember the word Gehenna(Jahnnam is the word for hell in Arabic) having its origin as a dump outside of Jerusalem. I kid you not. I laughed for a good minute or two.

All of these years fearing some psychopathic fantasy made by a desert dweller in the seventh century. Man do I feel pathetic now...

Originally, by realizing that if I remained Muslim, I would still be going to Christian, Mormon, Jewish etc. "hell". Then, by researching how the image of "satan" and "hell" were stolen from pagan myths of ancient egyptians, greeks, celtic, zoroastrian and norse mythologies and pantheons.

And finally, by reading this article and its references: Gehenna

I haven't resolved this. That's why I secretly kneel at the foot of the Cross of He that died so we may live.

How can I banish these demons?

I like the sentiment but am going to be a party pooper and, in light of our unshakable irrationality, edit to:

One should not fear what is not true.

Oh come now! I've lost out on a technicality of modern usage...abridged "can not" versus "should not". Boohoo!!!

I'd rather burn in hell than submit and prostrate all my life to a lazy, color-struck, sadistic, childish, misogynist fucker who has a hard time taking "no, I don't want to worship you" for and answer and a rather poor sense of judgement regarding the choice of his prophets. Heaven sounds boring, anyway.

Hell is called  JEHANAM in Arabic which has its Hebrew roots Gayhanom "The vally of Hanom" (a place in Jerusalem). Now here is the story behind this. Jews used to offer "Korbanot" which is animal sacrifices to god (lol), they used to burn them before they decay and that would cause a huge fire which Jesus later referred to. And of course ,as usual, Muhammad plagiarized the hell concept literally and added it to the diary he wrote in the cave. So:

    1. The false idea of the hellfire in all Abrahamic religions is made up by human imagination.
    2. Life is limited, how can the punishment be eternal?
    3. If there is hell then I will suck it up, I was brought up to face my problems and deal with them.
    4. Yahweh, Jesus, or Allah are all imaginary but if they were real, I do not want to be any place near any of them, and since they reside in heaven, then hell it is.   dance

Man created God in his image : intolerant, sexist, homophobic and violent.

Be rational always about everything, that is my advice. "MR GOD" who supposed to be infinitely more intelligent and of course loving, "good", more than us, why the hell he is gonna burn a good person, lets say for stupid reasons, that has no sense at all, wtf!,,,,,,God should be loving, if not, there is not God. That is all about! so be happy and live life the best you can! personally I think, hell is a good weapon to manipulate people, think about it! with out hell there woudn't be any religious madness out there.

Because noone ever died and came back. Everything about Heaven and Hell is all speculation. Why should I fear something which no one has proof over. I'll take my chances because according to everyone else I'm going to hell anyway. I'm going to hell cause I don't believe in Jesus, I'm going to hell because I'm not Muslim, I'm going to hell for this and that so you know what fuck it :/
