Jamaat-e-Islami
I giggled a bit, then got depressed knowing that this is the major cause of radicalisation in the Bengali community in the North East of England. If you ask the majority of the Bengali adults, 80% would place their votes on Jamaat-e-Islami.
But that is going to happen as simultaneously, a deeper literal and mental ghettoisation takes place in the British Muslim community, especially in insular localities, with already conservative communities being constantly injected with ultra reactionary Deobandi / Tabligi / Jamaat-e-Islami worldviews, morality, and atmospherics, to say nothing of salafism, and overarching that, Islamic Identity Politics, the entrenchment of sharia codes, and so on and so forth.
Bloody bang on. A rising issue within the North East again. Nobody objects nor speaks out against Islam and with the communities being small but tightly close makes it even more difficult.
