  • Describe Islam in One Sentence
     OP - June 12, 2011, 12:08 PM
    I know this was done with Qur'an awhile back, don't know if it was done with Islam. I thought this might be interesting to see in one place as everyone's mental image of Islam is so differerent based on their experiences.

    So how would you describe Islam in one sentence?

    Okay. In general I would describe it as "a terrifyingly resilient mind-controlling virus born in the deserts of 7th century Arabia, using fear to turn freethinking men and women into slaves of an immoral, narcissistic and malevolent god".

    But on a personal level I would say "a black-hole ideology which sucked the best 15 years of my life into nothingness and to this day scares the shit out of me."

    A violent, deceptive, backward, petty and ethnocentric religion in which women, children, non-arabs, freedom and all things fun are held in contempt in favour of control and oppression at all costs.

    Honestly it's so hard to describe it in one sentence because there is SO much to say about Islam, its characteristics and the destructive impact it has on societies, cultures and the individual.

    yeah, it is impossible to be succinct when describing Islam and it's infinte amount of justifications for it's power consuming ideology. In fact speaking of Islam's positives with brevity will be an easier task.

     yes It seeks desertification of cultures,by desaturating their vivid colours to a grey monochrome caricature of the Arab culture.
    But keeping in mind its origins can you expect anything else?
    I can't understand what sickness of the mind makes someone revel in the rape of one 's own culture for whatever lame reason one might have.

    I have very strong doubt on that Hallakuf.,  I am of the opinion that it was NOT the role of a man that played the role for Islam.. It is multiple men all the way from 6th century to 8th century to start with...  I have doubt that Muhammad that is described in Quran? hadith/Sunnah was ONE man..

    Nope I would NOT consider Islam  as religion.  I would only consider it as "CULT" with large number of followers who never read anything about it and  don't question it and do not allow others to question it.

    I have not seen any other religion where its followers don't question their religion  and do not allow others to question their religion.   So Islam is a different beast and I hope 21st century will tame that beast.

    No other religious book/scripture has as much hatred as you see in Quran/Hadith and sunnah.,  Don't give me the bible  as an example.,  It's hate is  at different level and its followers allow you to question that openly..   and its Religious preacher will NOT spew as much as hatred as this Islamic baboon you see here..

    So in short,  I do distinguish Islam from other religions and I will only put them along with Islam when i see their preachers and their scriptures spewing hate at the level you see in Islam  on those who don't follow their religion..
