    Hey all,

    The first time I came to my senses about Islam was when I was 15.  I tried to reason with the Imams about several questions but they gave me nonsense answers like: "Allah knows best".  My question was simple: Allah knows all so he must know who goes to Heaven/Hell. Why does he then need to 'test' us? Why do we then exist?

    Well, today I questioned an Islamic forum... not meant to troll but actually question.

    When I asked my questions they redirected me to a past thread similar to mine: ummah . c o m / forum / showthread.php?297733-Question-needing-as-answer...-Do-we-really-have-free-will/page2

    To sum it up their answers mainly were:
    - Don't think too deeply about things or you may go astray
    - Logical Fallacies
    - "Have faith"
    - Plain ignorance

    I am now convinced that I probably will never get an answer from devout Muslims.

    That rule in itself should show how weak and fake Islam actually is.  So weak that the only way to cover it's ass is to tell people asking too many questions is a sin.

    Infact there is even a hadith that says a man asked too many questions and lost his faith which is why asking questions is not good.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

    All religions do that. Well, the point at which they bring out that one varies, but they all end up there IMHO.

    Ive got to say it looks like Ive lost all my belief in Islam. Took a while cause I didn't want to leave, fear of the unknown I guess. Iam now agnostic. Lived in NY my whole life but moved to Missouri few years ago. My parents are from Pakistan and are not strict muslims but still believe in the basics and are blinded by faith. Haven't told them that I stop believing but I have given subtle hints.

    Which reminds me... Ramadan starts a couple of days

    My parents had the imam at the mosque decclare me insane, saying that everything I went through had made me snap so therefore I shouldn't and couldn't be judged.

    But effectively we don't speak anymore.

    Mind you I think my situation is an exception to the rule on this forum, only a few of us have no real parental contact anymore.  Most others still haven't come out.

    That's a bit harsh  Afro. People like that imam infuriate me because of their ignorance. How have you fared without them?

    My relationship with my parents is already on a rocky road and I don't want to mess it up. Still like them... you know? But I know this 'secret' will come out eventually.

    My two cents: don't come out to your family + parents unless you are financially and emotionally independent. Unless your life is at risk at home, no one should get in a hurry of coming out, pretending is a pain but it's easier to cope than to have your own family on your back all the fucking time.

    I am doing great without them, but to be honest I have done fine without them since I was 13.  I never needed them then, and I don't need them now.

    There was a time when I would have killed for them to love me, to appreciate me, to accept me.  But now I actually don't care at all.

    They don't deserve to know me anymore.

    Thanks! Yeah that's partially why I don't want to, I still depend on them. They pay my tuition. The other part is they're not so bad, they just care too much. Haha pretendings a bitch. I feel so fake  Roll Eyes.

    Keep things to yourself for now and don't risk causing danger, upset, turmoil. Concentrate on studies, respect your parents etc... time will come when you can make your own way in the world and choose your own lifestyle.

    I have asked the same question and the answer I got was: maybe  the word 'test' when related to Allah means something else. WTF!! I need definitive answers not quasi-answers from the deen that claims it has everything explained. Surely that's not asking too much  17

    The only conceivable end to which any intelligent being carries exams/tests for is finding out something hasn't been known before. Therefore, Allah does not know everything, let alone knowing best.

    When I asked why does he use lingusitically false labels to indicate human reality (i.e test) to us? Well, things are estimate, I was answered, and it is like the fruit in Jennah; the only similarity is in the names but the taste is different. Why use the exactly human names (i.e pomegranate) to describle something else if you really want to lead, not mislead?   banghead

    I think that Islam has had really taken advantage of my ignorance, yours and others. Just because you and I do not know all the answers, claims islam, it must be taken seriously that I know .. a hideous non sequitur.

    These are my unfalsifiable evidence, says Islam, and points at the Koran and Hadiths, therefore if you do not accept them youre Aduu Allah, Shaytan-alrajeem and my curses will cascade on you shortly. O mankind, you are being warned blah blah blah .... Very fucking cute.
