    On the fucking children's hospital, despicable, put these in the stocks and throw stuff at them for 10 yrs with only gruel and milk to nourish them. And Wolverhampton? Shit, the UK is going into some kind of unmotivated lack of a goal civil war? This shit scares me!

    (from this blog http://birminghamriots2011.tumblr.com/ )

    ITV just tweeted the following

    Lots asking about Birmingham Children's Hospital rumours - just spoken to them they've had "no trouble - all is safe & quiet"

    @ITVCentral

    It appears the hospital is okay for now.

    2254: Claire Marshall BBC News, Birmingham

    We've seen the most extraordinary scenes. Walking through the streets, there was looting going on. I saw 100 or so young men with ski masks and hoods pulled down. They seemed to be very well-organised, communicating with each other on radio. The police were in force but they did not seem to know what to do. It's a really tense atmosphere here.

    Should I go to bed, or should I stay up all night just in case the rioting spread further?

    If this runs on I can see it taking a nasty turn. Although I admire and support the Turks for defending their property - the last thing we want now are vigilante groups taking the law into their own hands - before you know it there will be one group (and ethnic group) against another, casualties - maybe even a death and then rumours being spread and God knows what.

    This is worrying - v worrying. Just phoned my ex who is near Woolwich where riots have been reported - my kids are with her at the mo.

    anybody here with family or who is themselves in london or birming nr the affected areas should leave to family and friends elsewhere. Stay safe.   This situation needs the army.

    Err maybe in your social circle.  In mine it isn't, even in my sisters age group which is your age group it isn't.

    Its Primarni.  But thanks for the incorrect correction.   whistling2

    Primarni doesn't even sound right (like seriously dude Tongue Armani > Primarni Cheesy) Whereas Primada makes a better alternative, and a more classy one. Tongue

    I hope this light hearted conversation is helping override the other one.  lipsrsealed

    Let's not get things out of proportion - I'm in London and things are quiet where I am - it's just small pockets of London that are affected - most places are safe. Not time to run for the hills just yet.

    I've been thinking of packing my kids in the car and leaving, there is no riots in the high st which I live close to, but the areas around it have had it....
