Yes, I think the fasting/not eating may be rough on your body, have a backup plan.  I can never do low calories or not eating, I eat a lot of food, that’s why perhaps protein based diets work for me, cuz I like to eat a lot.

    Ah ok.

I would go to the doctors but he is rubbish, he wants to spend most of his time discussing theology with me, or telling me to hold until uni cos I will find someone special there, or checking out my vagina.

Not kidding, i went in for a throat infection and came out thinking how the fuck was a vagina check up relevent.  Grin

    I need to switch doctors.

I will just stick to seeing how it goes, first sign that my heart is straining and I will stop and eat something and do it the other way.

I'm the opposite, I am used to not eating.  Until my heart started malfunctioning last year and I ended up in hospital, I couldn't have cared if I ate since I warred with food.  To be fair I was living on 70 calories a day at the time that happened and it had been going on for awhile.  I was extremely depressed though which just robbed me of the rest of my appetite which prior to that was 500 calories a day maximum.

Now I care though, never been more frightened than when my heart stopped working properly. So, I just want to start eating well if I have to eat.

Ella, yes perhaps my inertia towards sticking to a specific diet in the last couple of years also stemmed from a health scare, I had an operation to remove my appendix, it should have been simple, but some how I didn't recover easily, it took me forever, and I blamed my previous protein restricted diet for the slow recover, on top I suddenly I got some kind of asthma reaction to some food, especially red meat after the operation.  I suffered with this for almost a year, at the time, I just wanted to be healthy, I just didn't care what size, as long as I am healthy.

That is what I am hoping for, that I can get to the stage in which my health matters more than my size, and my size still matters too much right now.  So its a good thing that this detox will make me drop my excess weight rapidly and then gaining weight when i start eating better will only happen if I eat a lot more since it's healther food.

Ie sushi made with brown rice is less fattening than white rice.  So its all going to help.   dance

Plus no more sugar = a bit more food.

Rice (white/brown/wild etc) doesn't suit me Ella, it as bad as bread, all grains in fact don't work well with me... I heard black rice is best, but I haven't seen it in any health store...

I had a wild rice and soya bean salad once and that sat well in my stomach but I haven't eaten rice in years (white) since it makes me feel too full.

Well I have a list of can and can't, and I will create some ideas from that for stage 1 and 2 of this diet.  See what feels right and what doesn't.

Diet coke, and anything with artificial sweeteners just make me put on weight, no idea how... even if I fast and just drink diet coke, I end up putting on weight.

Most importantly, coke/diet coke has been linked to osteoporosis in women, studies showed bone density in women who drank one can of diet coke a day decreased only after one month of daily intake.... I haven't got the link, if I find it will post it here.

I don't drink it anywhere near frequently enough to worry about that.  A can every week or two weeks is more my intake level.

I'm female, but I'm not going to worry anyway.  Like I said, I don't drink it every day, and if you get too puritanical about the dangers of this food or that, you might as well die young anyway.  What's the point of living to be a hundred if you're living on water and vegatables?  Just take everything in moderation, and eat 5 portions of fruit and veg daily, that's my attitude.

I am allergic to the sweetners in diet drinks, even in the flavored waters.

    How are we doing today?
The lentils and dates I had yesterday were baaaad, I knew from previous experiment they are bad, but I can be sort of stupid and expect different results each time I try this.  Anyway, today I managed to just drink water and green tea up to now, hoping to flush out the effects of that stuff out of my system.

Not sure what to eat, I am not hungry for anything. I suppose when I feel really hungry, I will fancy or crave something.

Ok, so this was a total fail.

My eating habits are still really bad.

I can't remember the last time I ate meat, might have been when I was away as I can't recall eating it since I got back (no dirty jokes people).  Although I do eat bacon regularly, like twice a week.

Think I had 3 pieces of broccoli stolen from my kids plate last week.  The last time I had fruit it was ontop of a pancake, again when I was away.

But I eat bread and cheese a lot.  I went through a pancake and bacon phase for about 2 weeks but I haven't let myself touch it since.  It's a guilty pleasure.

I still don't drink water or any cold drink at all.

So yea, basically my diet consists of:

    Bread
    Butter
    Cheese
    Bacon
    Milk
    Cereal
    Sugar
    Tea/coffee

    All week long.

Occasionally, like once every 2 weeks I eat sushi, which is usually 4 pieces of eel on rice.

I seriously need to try again.
