    And yes, there are good bits in all 'holy' books. It doesn't make one better than the other though, and frankly all the rubbish bits negate any nice poems or prose in the first place.

    This is a relatively modern phenomenon once christianity had most of its power and influence stripped  Roll Eyes 
    Blasphemy was very much alive and well until recently. Heck even Charles Darwin realised that his work pretty much topped the blasphemy list and attempted to tone down later editions of his book to avoid the social ramifications such research would bring.


    I am drawing a strict distinction between the church (which was an arm of the monarch ergo all politics) and Christianity the orthodox religion. Free thinking is an integral part of Christianity, you can go as far as doubting god  or even the motives of Jesus in fact allot of the old philosophers where Christians St Augustine, St Aquinas etc.

Rationality does not always give as perceivable proof but then neither does physics/met-physics . I am neither rational or irrational I simply am amongst the post modern schizoid insanity.     Yep that's a good example of what I was talking about.

    I would honestly be pissed off and worried if I ever had to physically defended myself, and I was in court being judged by a Jury full of philosophy graduates and post modernists.

    The scientific rational paradigm is mostly ubiqituous in it's ability to converse via nonsense to upgrade fillial concepts into conjugal natural hyperbole. Time will truly tell that philosophy is a modular way of thinking about the generic unknown and the postular uncertainty of quantum rythym. I think perhaps once we get to the root causes of this kantian dynamic that stresses that we must extrapolate new patterns from the very real nihilistic conveyance of post-modernist thinking, that's truly when we will know how to boogey.

    I sense a lot of disdain for philosophy in this thread. But you only really need to feel annoyed by philosophy if you feel at all threatened by any of their arguments, which can be averted by simply ignoring them like the rest of humanity has done since time immemorial.

    Some aspects of philosophy I find really interesting, but then again you can go down the Hamza Tsortis "inter and intratextual" "conceptual analysis" route, and it simply becomes babble IMO.

     I just wanted to see how my little lab-rats fared behind the plexiglass, I had let them run amuck for so long and I am glad to inform you that they did not fail to entertain. So thank  you all for participating in this little game you can all go back to your cages know.
