    Remembering the past mostly.

    I would say songs, but they make me remember the past, so its memories more than anything.

    Sad movies.

    Apocolypto.  For some reason this movie depressed me for days.  Just thinking about how barbaric people can be.

    IA.  This film also depressed me for ages afterwards because his mission was futile and he died in the end.

    Existing, pretty much.

    Some specifics:
    My slow cognition, bad memory, attentiveness, and focusing ability.
    Informal social situations (I have a bad case of social anxiety, which probably developed as a result of above lovely qualities).
    My underwhelming academic, professional, and personal achievements.
    Thinking about my old, far-flung, now successful friends.
    Lack of enthusiasm and willpower to persevere.

    Feeling like a failure, working in a dead end job with no promotion possibilities, scared to take risks also that I can't jump up and down with joy regarding my enlightenment phase - stepping from the umbrella of Islam because I have a family that I love and they love me even though I am not the Muslim they want me to be.

    That's an interesting post. I can relate to a lot of it, yet I like to think I remain an optimist for the most part. Maybe because I'm a dreamer and I dream of a better different future.
