`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

Nope. The final series of How I Met Your Mother was flat out poor. Not just the final episode, but the entire final series.

Oh right! The last series、I see what you mean。For some reason I misinterpreted your post as meaning that you disliked the entire programme itself。

Anyone watching Treme? I got interested in watching it after I learn that David Simon created it and they are few casts from The Wire.

Hannibal is the show on TV right now. Every single episode of season two has been amazing.

It really is. I really hope they do go all the way into Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs. And I hope they manage to secure the rights to portray Clarice Starling. It'll be interesting to see who's cast. But most of all I really wanna see Mads Mikkelsen play Hannibal with the mask off in those iconic prison scenes. We already got a glimpse of the monster underneath in this latest episode and I nearly wet my pants at the prospect of more of that. With him as Hannibal, those scenes in the cell are gonna be electric.

Mads Mikkelsen's performance as Hannibal is flawless. All round, the acting is superb. The writing is tight - every scene, every little bit of dialogue has purpose and weight. The cinematography surpasses every other show on TV. So many stunning shots in each episode. I was a little iffy on the first season and found it a little hard to follow but this season it's stepped up and become a different calibre of show. I can't wait to see how this season resolves itself.

I'm not totally comfortable on how they've deviated from the novels, but it's so brilliantly executed that I'm just gonna go along with it anyway. It's so damn classy and stylish that it makes it easy to forget the minor gripes and get on board with where it's going. It captures the themes and the spirit of the characters pitch perfectly, which it the important thing I think, and it really is visually unique and stunning.

Is Hannibal based on the Thomas Harris novels? Are we starting at the beginning, covering the same ground as the movie Manhunter?

It's set in the Thomas Harris universe, but it's set during the time before the first novel, Red Dragon, in the events prior to Dr Lecter's capture. In these first two seasons so far, Lecter is a psychologist, therapist, and a consultant/profiler on various ongoing homicide investigations. It's partly procedural, in that there are several murder cases or serial killers that are investigated that make up the meat of the episodes, perhaps spanning one or more episodes, with the blossoming relationship between Lector and criminal profiler Will Graham being the story thread that ties the episodes together.

The showrunners definitely plan on adapting the novels. I presume the third season will be the events of Red Dragon, since they've just about expended the window of time before that as we approach the end of season 2. They will adapt The Silence of the Lambs, and Hannibal (the novel), perhaps even run on beyond what Harris has written.

I'll tell you what, this show revolutionised my view of Matthew McConaughey

Its kind of a self-enclosed show, wonder if there's a need for a second season.

Its a great show, loved every minute of it.

So just googled and the next season is going to feature new detectives. Good move, very interesting.

Both are great Hannibal and True Detectives but I was kinda put off at the end.   It went from deep dialogue..... to I feel ghosts and went towards the light.  End could have been handled better especially since more of the bad guys are still out there.

With Hannibal alls I can say is I hope Gillian Anderson (who keeps getting hotter with time) comes back and doesn't get eaten, she is a feast for the eyes.  Although her other show The Fall should be coming out sometime in the summer.   Mads is amazing, that scene with him and Izzard was the best having "dinner", it seemed like they were fighting back laughter.   I hope they have outtakes on the dvd some scenes are soo messed up I want to see the filming of them.

I'm not sure I like the actor who plays Will Graham though. But the Lecter actor is good.

William Petersen was just so burningly intense in this role in Manhunter. The guy who plays him in the TV show doesn't have that, I guess I'm just allowing Pertersen's performance to overawe it because it was so frikkin great

I think the final scene was definitely the weakest.

If I was writing it, I'd have let Rust die. I think that would have been a more fitting end for the character. I suppose in a way he did die, since the interesting nihilist who makes an uncomfortable amount of sense died and was replaced by a less interesting guy who had a near-death religious experience and now believes in woo woo. Dunno, I was relieved some of his torture has been allayed, but I can't help feeling it is some kind of betrayal of the character.

That's not to say I didn't enjoy the final episode. It's amongst the best finales I've seen.

I wasn't sure about him either at first. But he has grown on me.

It's a tough act to follow. But for this particular rendition of the story, he's the right kind of actor. That becomes more apparent as the show finds its unique voice and takes interesting liberties with the source material.

I've only watched the first six episodes so far (while on vacation with my man) and we promised each other we'd finish it together (through Skype) so I'll finish it either today or tomorrow. Fantastic stuff.

Very rarely do I watch a series to the end. Dexter season 1-4 I loved them, but lost interest after two episodes in season 5. Walking Dead 1st season AWESOME. 2nd season meh...ok...3rd season watched three episodes... wtf happened, it sucks. Same with Scandal. 1st and 2nd season great. But when we arrived at 3rd season half way through I lost interest. Now I only follow Big Bang Theory and Modern Family since HIMYM was concluded.

It's not just you though. Dexter and the Walking Dead suffered huge dips in quality, especially in the later seasons. Just be grateful that you didn't stick with Dexter till the bitter end, it just became a joke towards the end. The writers were insulting the viewers intelligence every week.

I don't know you managed to stick by HIMYM to the end though.

Did anyone see the first episode of Fargo? Based on the Cohen brothers movie of the same name (the TV show is produced by them, so it has good pedigree).

Gotta say, I'm blown away. It took me a while to get used to the idea of Martin Freeman with an American accent, but my brain eventually readjusted.
