What do you think of the case of Dutch journalist Joanie de Rijke who was raped by talibans and later claimed ''they are not monsters? (Sorry, i can't post links).

Someone described her as a brave woman who doesn't want to be a victim.  mysmilie_977
Ok, but isn't  claiming ''my rapists weren't monsters'' a little bit too much?

A few days ago i had an interesting conversation with some guys on a different forum (open to all religions). Topic was captured women.

Muslim guys were saying it's perfectly acceptable and noble if a muslim warrior marries a captured woman because he offers her safety and protection.

I asked: what if Serbian soldiers offered to marry captured Muslim women in war?

The answer was: that's impossible because A) a muslim woman can't marry a non-muslim B) Serbian soldiers are monsters and which normal woman would like to marry a monster?

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Huh? Cheesy piggy

Sounds like Stockholm Syndrome to me too, but then again the statement "they aren't monsters" is a bit ambiguous.  Its not necessarily excusing or downplaying their crime.  Maybe she is saying the rapes they committed were monstrous acts but she has a more nuanced view of the people themselves.  I don't know really, its impossible to tell without a link to an interview with her or a statement from her.

     that is a old story .. 2009..

Yap.,   Rape the girl in night time and be good in day time..  and give tea and biscuits..

    Quote
Mrs. de Rijke is an attractive 43 year old Dutch free-lance journalist with long blonde hair. Though she is a Dutch citizen, she does not live in the Netherlands but in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking northern half of neighboring Belgium. Most of the time she writes for P-Magazine, a glossy Flemish men’s weekly which features pictures of girls in lingerie and skimpy bathing suits, pornographic cartoons, articles about fast cars and political pieces.

    and this is P-Magazine

well may be she went in to Taliban den thinking that she will become Queen Sheba or Queen bee of Taliban..

Huh! This is an interesting picture

from .clint.be Do anyone of you recognize that guy  above??

They are not monsters but bad human beings.

My thoughtless hand has brushed away.

I too dance and drink, and sing,
Till some blind hand shall brush my wing.

Therefore I am a happy fly,
