    Ah, it's already closed.

Actually I like Muslims to try to convince me too. I am still looking for an argument that makes me think "Wow, I had never thought of that!" and yet it never comes.

Still I desire to understand why other people feel what they do.

I don't come here any more due to unfair moderation.

i kept getting annoyed when they kept saying that if he was there to get people to leave islam he would be banned...yet  people here are allowed to freely try and convert the posters.

not really.  once it is known what they are doing, they get their own special thread
and are restricted to only writing in that thread.  Which I think is generous of the
    admins in a way.

I wouldn't think they would be restricted if they didn't go about it in a spammy all over the place over bearing way.

The reasons hassan posted for leaving islam are exactly same as mine

they gave not even a single reasonable answer  to the question of Hassan ...but don't forget "Islam has answers to all your problems" .....

it seems that Hassan is inactive for a month or two on CEMB ...  any idea Huh?

Disbelief doesn't justify getting tortured in eternal hell

    yup.. interesting responses.

they asked him to tell why he left islam.  He politely declined and said he would be
willing to pm it to those who wanted to know.  They came back and asked him to
post it on the public board.  Thats when they kinda got ugly.

^You seem to have a point there, i learnt the hard way not to go and ridicule people's belief unless they ridicule me first for being a kaffir then i get back at them by repudiating their beliefs. If they dont want to hear or try to understand, fine, but they better not start treating me like am piece of worthless shit because we dont share the same beliefs.

That's the whole problem! They just don't get it. They don't mind foisting their arrogant BS via dawah but yet are not secure enough to listen to the other side always assuming that people are seeking to destroy Islam from within! Talk of the guilty being afraid!
I think all that everyone wants is to be able to practice whatever shit we believe in without imposing our beliefs on other.
Life is too short to be wasted on puerile supremacy contests.

It must of been more painful for him to leave Islam, especially since he taught at a religious school.  Cry

I've got nothing but admiration & respect for Hassan. It couldn't have been easy for him to leave Islam, especially since he was so entrenched in it. It must have taken great courage & what I also admire about him is that even now he still does not close his mind off completely to Islam. He is still willing to listen, learn & reflect over anything new presented to him although I doubt whether they could tell him anything new or present anything of any real substance.
His manner & demenour on the Ummah site was exemplary in the face of nothing but hatred from the majority of the posters.

Someone said in chat "Good Trolling". Actually I wasn't trolling and I don't see how in any way my posts there could be seen as trolling. Like TR - I LOVE challenging myself, testing my views and just debating.

As it happens I really did go there just in a bored moment to see if anything has changed (it hasn't). But then I couldn't help getting into discussions.

But I was very open and honest about everything. I asked people to give me their best reasons why I should reconsider Islam and I promised to seriously consider anything I hadn't considered before. I was polite. Engaged seriously in debate. Made fun of no-one. Did not wind anyone up. I did exactly what I said - on a public discussion forum.

Could someone tell me how that amounts to trolling?

And Gladfly I wasn't trying to "save" anyone. Though one of my motives was to show ex-Muslims exist and are not evil but ordinary people with very reasonable issues with Islam.

But again I said that openly on the forum.

Labeling someone as a troll when all they've done is present a viewpoint different than your own is the in thing to do now. It alleviates the responsibility of having some consideration for someone else's stance on a subject and/or criticizing your own beliefs. Having arguments on the internet and being defensive about it is what's hot in the streets, nah'mean?

Uh, no they do not tolerate "debate" on Islam's inherent awesomeness there.

    But good luck Afro

I actually feel sorry for Muslims that the biggest most visited Muslim forum on the internet gives them such an awful reputation.

I got comments like: "Why would anyone want to be a dirty Kafir? The Kuffar can't even clean themselves properly, lol"
