The short religion and ethics series 4thought.tv ( which goes out on C4 each evening after the news)  is exploring a topic examining the issues and events leading to a person choosing to leave their religion and would like to hear the experience of someone who left Islam for another faith or who left religion completely when they stopped being a religious Muslim. If you think you might be interested in taking part and talking about this on TV you can get in touch with me via email: marie@waddellmedia.com

Yes im an ex Muslim since November 2011 and I was born a Muslim and remained for 17 years, I had a huge amount of depression that came to me and it made me question why every time I prayed nothing happened and even when I tried to become even more hard line with my faith, still no answers and the problems just escalated for me at this point I started to wonder why I couldn't have my life improve, I then started to notice the cracks in my faith and simply it started to fall like a house of cardsj. I really will say if it wasn't for me really paying attention to the verses about hell I'd probably wouldn't being a atheists but I couldn't reconcile why a rapist as long as he believes in god could be forgiven compared to an apostate in Allan's eyes so that made me the ex Muslim atheist I am. Since this I've started to stand on my own legs and not ask spiritual daddys for everything, I'm very happy now but I have still have not told my family. I don't know how to tell them without them becoming angry at me. That's pretty much my story in a nutshell I could elaborate but I didn't want to type 10 pages long so I shortened it for this so it could be brief

Tell people that there's an invisible man in the sky who created the universe, and the vast majority will believe you.

Tell them the paint is wet, and they have to touch it to be sure.

Is this a private ex muslin party or can any ex muslin join in? Never really belived in it but was a certified mussie and that's all the authorities cared about anyway. still have the documentation to prove it but even less into Islam today if that's possible? Maybe we should make Some official ex mussie i.d cards for the hell of it?

I'm pretty sure everyone can join; how does one have documentation proving their Muslimness?

You go to city hall and ask for the ex-muslim certificate. Then you take it to the Ministry of Foreign affairs to get it apostilled.

If it's not in English, an official and legal translation is definitely in order.

Don't forget the sworn, eye witness testimony of at least four ex muslims who saw you in the act of apostasy.

Proof positive that being an ex-Muslim is as much a sausagefest as being a Muslim.

Astagfirullah. Barbecues are just unseasonal at this time of year.

It's a convert thing, when one wants to marry a muslim/ah in my wife's country the outsider must provide proof of their islamicness or bear witness at the local islam instatution. So I went into a strange building and said strange words infront of strange men but don't quote me on that, people might get the wrong idea.
And as far as I know, appostacy is not an option in that place but rehabailitation/jail can be. I'll not mention the country by name at this time in an attempt to preserve my annonimity, nor will I confirm or deny any guesses.

    That's kinda revolting.

I come from a predominantly muslim country (duh) and my cousin wanted to marry a Turkish citizen who was born muslim as well. But the authorities here would still not take that as sufficient proof, so he had to take the shahada before witness all over again before they granted them the right to be married. It took a very long while before they did, too.

The worst part was when they took my finger print samples, felt more like a crim than a convent, that really brought home the point that l was leaving myself open to some serious Sharia b.s. Felt like bolting it there and then.
