  • starting a pop punk band

totally spontaneous. i was listening to some pop punk (youre never too old for it!!) and decided i wanna be a drummer in a band, even though i have very little experience with drumming but really loved my experience with it, it takes over your energy!!! my friend can play a bit of guitar so he's in. now we need a bassist!

this is gonna be so much fun! already found a place where we can rent a room and equipment! dance

Oooh, sounds like fun. So who are your influences? Do you have songs written already?

i used to write lyrics and stuff.. i dunno if many of them are fitting for a pop punk band, but we'll see! we'll probably start by just jamming and learning our instruments. my bassist friend (who used to be in a pop punk band in high school) said she might join. so now the trio is complete!! dance

i'm into a lot of punk, but im more into melodic/upbeat stuff, which is why i want it to be pop punk. my influences are angels & airwaves (theyre not really pop punk i guess, but theyre so upbeat and lively, i love them!), rise against (especially their later, more melodic stuff), 30 seconds to mars... erm... i also like some more teenagey stuff like blink-182 and simple plan sometimes. grin12

other punk bands i like include the unseen, bad religion, thought riot, ignite, refused, etc...

I’m good at yelling along to ‘proper’ Punk. I do like the pop stuff though. Blink 182, for example. They’re better than Cryptopsy! dance

Btw, check this bad boy out for drumming: or is it too drum & bass for you!?
