    سُورَةُ النِّسْوَانِ  Sura The Women

    EDITED with new version:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HJLKOhaBfI

    ‏When the women bursts out
‏And breaks free from her chains
‏And takes her right and is content
‏And fully pursues every avenue of life, triumphant
‏Then the nation will prosper and be strong
‏Oh Women what has deceived you about the religion of nonsense
‏Are you happy with the title of ‪'The deficient ones'‬?
‏Or with 'right hands possession', content?
    ‏So do not remain silent
‏Nor submissive to the perpetrators of oppression
    ‏Raise your necks up high
‏And coexist with men as equals.

At last, it's been a long hard wait.

This sura is like a glass of ice water to those who have been lost in the desert.

I'm sorry, the recitation seems poor to me. Hassan made a few pronunciation mistakes (or at least it looks like it to me judging from the diacritical marks).

Also, what's up with the voice distortion thing? Hassan was never shy or afraid of using his natural voice in his other videos. The voice distortion thing only makes the video sound worse.

Which pronunciation mistakes? In the Arabic version or the English? I didn't notice any mistakes in the Arabic version.

I could not spot any based on diacritical markings. Which bits in particular do you mean?

well, for example, the part where hassan says 'af la hattil um' is supposed to be 'af la ha til um', and 'til' and 'um' should have the same stress.

also I can sense some sort of struggling or lagging in certain sections of the recitation.

We at the Holy Qurqan Channel take great pride in the standard of recitation and have noted your comments and I can tell you we have taken them extremely seriously.

After a thorough investigation we have identified the Qari' responsible and have had him shot.

We apologise profusely for any upset this has caused and will endeavour to make sure the Qaris we employ meet the highest standards.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Also, if i remember correctly, when you end each sentence with a 'tha' it should be written as the round-shaped version of the 'tha', and should be pronounced as 'ah' or 'aa' instead of 'at', sort of like 'Qiamah'

Truth_seeker, best you know what you are talking about before talking. The verses don't end with Ta' Marbouta - they end with the feminine ending Ta. Smiley

oh wait not, i don't mean tha, i mean taa, the third letter in the arabic alphabet.

it just seems to me that the quran never pronounces 'taa' as 'at' in the ends of a verse. They always use that round-shaped taa like in Akhirah or Qiamah.

well this is just how my culture taught how to recite the quran.

if you look at this, http://quran.com/69, all the verses that end with the letter 'taa' is written in that round-shaped version, and is pronounced as either 'ah' or 'aa'.

Look I don't pretend that I actually understand arabic, but your recitation felt a little bit off to me.

Yes, I know how Taa' Marboota ة is pronounced at the end.

The point is they are NOT  ة  they are  ت

The sura is a partial parody of Sura al-Inshiqaq - which ends in a similar fashion:

    إِذَا السَّمَاء انشَقَّتْ

    وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ

    وَإِذَا الأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ

    وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ

    وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ

Taa' Maftooha ت is the usual ending for feminine verbs and plurals like Dakhalat (a woman entered) and Fatayaat (Girls)

I read that ages ago - I think in Graham Chapman's autobiography - or could have been a Python book (I had them all) - I am seriously well impressed you know it.  Afro

    You're welcome.

btw I disguise my voice as I want to be very cautious as many Muslims don't have a sense of humour over this and will get very angry about it. (you should see some of the comments I've had!) - I mean  there was a massive fuss when Waleed al Husseini posted some verses on Face Book and he was imprisoned in Palestine and threatened with death threats. He's still in prison.

In my usual vids I always try to be fair, reasonable and very careful not to upset Muslims.

This is a change in style and so want to distance myself personally from it. (Even though u guys know of course.)
