This is something that baffles me about many humans. Why do they insist on equating beauty with sadness?
I tend to equate it with peace and joy. Maybe I'm just sick.

Devious, treacherous, murderous, neanderthal, sub-human of the West. bunny

One of my favourite songs. From the movie 'Bombay'. Pretty old though.

    Song in Hindi - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ7nhit0AmI

Same song in Tamil, my mother tongue - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfWiEahXHuY

Same song in Tamil & Hindi Remix!

I love this song guys! Hope you will like it too. (The story line is, one hindu guy & a muslim girl falls in love with each other and marry against the parents wishes, settle in Bombay (Mumbai). Their practical difficulties s the story).

Here's a band my boss introduced me to. They remind me of U2 in some ways.

REM? Really? I guess they remind me of U2 in the layered sound of the guitars. The vocals are nothing like U2 though.

I think they're from Britain. I really like their sound.

Here are four songs I recently downloaded. Don't care about the videos, the music makes up for anything lacking there.

    Paul Potts: Nessun Dorma

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOKsoORWZis

I never gave a rat's ass about opera, couldn't stand it actually, until I heard him sing this.

He seems like the most lovable person. His shyness and unassuming nature makes his story all the more heartwarming. You can't help but cheer for this guy to achieve everything he wants. I just want to walk up to him and pinch his little cheeks  Grin

    Andrea Bocelli: Because We Believe

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alRXR0ogz3s

I didn't know until very recently that he was blind. He makes me want to learn Italian  Cry

Celine Dion: Taking Chances (a good old ballsy song  Grin I didn't know it was a remake though)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhtdXu1rc_0

It ends on an odd note though  :-\

Hardly of the same calibre, but I love this song too. Daniel Powter: Bad Day

I didn´t necessarily equate beauty with sadness - just this sad song with Berbs.

But different people react differently to beauty - with awe, elation, joy, or sadness... for all beauty is passing, and for some it  may be a reminder of that fact.

    Jessica Andrews--Who I am

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMBrDYwe6jI

If I live to be a hundred
And never see the seven wonders
    That'll be alright
If I don't make it to the big leagues
If I never win a Grammy
    I'm gonna be just fine
'Cause I know exactly who I am

    I am Rosemary's granddaughter
The spitting image of my father
And when the day is done
My momma's still my biggest fan
Sometimes I'm clueless and I'm clumsy
But I've got friends who love me
And they know just where I stand
It's all a part of me
    And that's who I am

So when I make big mistake
When I fall flat on my face
    I know I'll be alright
Should my tender heart be broken
I will cry those teardrops knowin'
    I will be just fine
'Cause nothin' changes who I am

    I am Rosemary's granddaughter
The spitting image of my father
And when the day is done
My momma's still my biggest fan

And they know just where I stand
It's all a part of me
    And that's who I am

    I'm a saint and I'm a sinner
    I'm a loser, I'm a winner
    I'm am steady and unstable
I am young but I'm able

    I am Rosemary's granddaughter
The spitting image of my father
And when the day is done

    Hi Buster

I love Paul Potts. Did you see his audition for Britain's Got Talent? I was moved to tears. He just has the saddest face I had ever seen, like he had been bullied at school and disappointed all his life, when he said he was going to sing opera I was so afraid the judges would rip him to shreds, and one more disappointment and humiliation would be the straw that broke the camel's back. Then when he opened his mouth and started to sing, it was incredible. As you said, heartwarming.

Life is a sexually transmitted disease which is invariably fatal.
