    After reading this^ thread, i have wondering if Hijabi/Niqab/Burkha prevents Horny men from hitting on a women or ogle them because i dont think it really does, all the time.

    I have been turn on by those women many times before and i know some men who secretly have a fetish for them plus am sure some of us are aware that there is a hijabi porn nowadays just by searching on Porntubes and i admit some of them are hot Grin.

    Also there was this woman at a dawa'ah conference that i once attended who told us about her trip to one of the gulf countries, she told us that there was a time she wore hijab and covered her face but a man approached her because of the Nike Shoes she wore and he liked it and started having conversation with her,wanting to get to know her more.

    Although, i can somewhat agree that it does ward off men from hitting on them but its not always the case. I do have mixed opinion on this.

    What do you think?

    I think it mostly helps with muslim men. Like wearing a scarf is an indication to them not to look. but to non muslim men its an invitation for them to oogle.

    I get stared at all the time. And I get told that my scarves are pretty. I stopped wearing pretty scarves.
    I wish parents everywhere could remove their veil of religion and see their kids for whom they actually are.

    I doubt the hijab ITSELF prevents women getting it on, but more the social norm of not to approach a women directly who have it on.  If all the women in the world magically put the hijab on without the imposition of that social norm, then women would still be getting hit on.  It's not that a piece of clothing" protects " a woman from getting hit on its what is it socially acceptable to do that does or doesn't.
    So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

    I get the idea that its more of a social norm, that if women wore it like norabora said it means they shouldnt be looked at by muslims because of the hijab. My only problem with this issue is that those muslims who thinks that muslimahs should wear it because they will invite unwanted attention from men which is not enough for me to fully consider it as reasonable enough.

    The trick worked on me, guys didn't show interests in me, all though they may have been thinking 'she's a muslim' so yeah, also i think i was uglier back then..so not sure which one weighed more, I'm hoping it was the scarf Tongue lol.

    No it doesn't.

    Even in the boundaries of social norms like someone mentioned, it's only because there are choices of women with no hijab.

    In this country it's easier not to get hit on in a hijab because there are far more women not wearing one, so men can look elsewhere.

    In a muslim country where all the women have to, then no it doesn't.  Women are still women, men are still men, and they will find a way.

    Isn't in saudi that they drop notes on the floor with their details hoping someone will pick it up?  I swear someone talked about that on here before.  All I know is from experience in morocco, hijab or not you are still getting hit on if you are unchaperoned.

    I don't think it stops people 'oggling' at all. One of my lecturers is a hijabi and I stare at her for the entire lecture, whilst imagining all the things I want to do to her. Probably wouldn't hit on a hijabi though.

    Honestly I don't see what the big deal is if a man oogles over a woman. Girls oogle over guys all the time too it's human nature. The problem is guys who are inappropriate, rude  and pushy. Instead of avoiding women by covering them, I wish men were taught to be polite to ladies regardless of dress.

    Yes, they throw notes with their phone numbers on them in each other's shopping bags if they're sitting on benches in the mall Grin they have their strategies lol.

    Okay Serena I know I'm slow no the up take but what exactly do you think that man is doing?

    I see people moving in a crowd. That hijabi seem totally unaware of that man behind her. That man seems only like someone in a crowd standing near someone else. Nothing more nothing less.

    I watched the video several more times and don't see it. To bad we don't have a another angle or more video feed. However it is very difficult to tell. Being that there is absolutely no reaction from the woman to move away I can not see that the man could have touched her.

    Are you not aware of when some one touches you inappropriately?

    Do you know more about these people. Perhaps who this man is to this woman or where this woman's escort is?

    I have no doubt you think it is sexual. I am will aware of people who go around to arouse fears to close contact between men and women. This surprise you but it can be confirmed or at least attested to the likelihood that I am an advocate of modesty between men and women. Perhaps not to the extent of Muslims. But if this man actually touched that woman and got some sexual gratification out of it and the woman was not even aware of the intensity of the touch. That was amazing. If that man (or any man) has that sort of sexual feeling they are like... wow... nothing will stop from doing sexually gratifying things all over the place. The hijab is of no account at all nor are clothes nor nor is anything in that case.

    So I perfer to think that he did not touch that woman in any other way then might randomly happen in a crowd.
