Yeah, and when the sun hits them at certain times of the day they dazzle, awesome site to see if there's a heap of them on a hill.

Hey I did a bit of looking around and found a really good image resizer. Results seem to be as good as the high-priced Photoshop plugins, but this one is free and runs standalone. Worth playing around with if you see a cool pic that you want bigger.

First attempt at miniaturisation photography. Not sure how well it worked as my eyes are biased, but looks pretty nonetheless  Afro

Nice. Are you freelensing or doing it in Photoshop? I've never been confident enough to do the former, and haven't tried my hand at the latter.

(There's also the Lensbaby, of course, but I'd never use it enough to justify buying it!)

Righty-o then. I shall open the proceedings. This is one I took in the rain the other day, down at the little dam at my place. It's a lotus leaf with a blob of rain water on it.

Taken on a Samsung PL50 on auto settings. So there. Tongue

What is that? it looks like someone spunked in there. Nice try though.

No freelensing, I just took a shot as I normally would, my camera comes with some inbuilt effects one of which is a miniaturisation effect. Too lazy to photoshop for this one, didn't actually expect it to work for that shot.

I've never heard of freelensing before. Sounds fun but risky, this is pricey equipment!

I was trying to attach a photo I bad taken.

I was using the Additional Options ...  feature at the bottom left when replying. Could some one tell me a little more about how it's suppose to work.

EDIT: Well that is interesting ... when I try to post the pic I get the message body empty or something like that then I am not trying to post it but it shows up oriented different. Oh well.

If at first you succeed...try something harder.

Last weekend, I was mainly enjoying the Suffolk mud and random music, although possibly not at the same time.

All manually focused, because there's no such thing as a compact 100mm micro four thirds prime lens.

This week, I have been mainly.. taking photos in the company of like-minded people with cameras. It's been fun.

Also, fingers crossed, I might get to learn how to use a darkroom. To develop and print film in, I assume.*

    *Other uses are available.

    Thanks, guys  Afro

I did two versions of the first one - the one you see above was focused on the trees, while this one was focused on the teeth:

I still can't quite decide which one I prefer.

Imo the other one is a bit better. This one lacks a certain lustre that the other one has for some reason.

First one looks better. Colours are more vivid. The red isn't anywhere near as deep in the second one.

No, but IMO the texture on the steel is a lot better. Red isn't everything. Tongue

With Photoshop, toor can bring out the colour while retaining the texture. Tongue
