    Shame to see the Dutch so poor, Holland can still go through but only if they beat Portugal and Germany beat Denmark AND score more goals leaving them with a higher goal difference.

    Sadly seems something inevitable about the German juggernaut now.

    I didn't think they were going through because I thought it would be decided on goal difference rather than head to head.

    It looks like it is shaping up for a Greece vs. Germany quarter final. That is going to be epic for the Greeks, they'll finally have a chance to get revenge on the bail-out!

    Of course it is very unlikely that the Greeks will beat the Germans. Especially seeing as Karagounis won't be playing. So unfair that he was booked for diving when it clearly should have been a penalty.

    In fact that would be pretty sad for the Greeks if the Germans wipe the floor with them which is what is likely to happen. Nevertheless I will be routing for the Greeks.

    Haven't been able to watch the games since June 12th, and it breaks my heart. Only a final victory for Germany can heal that.

    I've had to switch the tele off because Ronaldo scored. I couldn't bear to see him celebrate, or to see his team do so well.  Why do I hate him so? He's just a player? And a damn good one at that, I must admit.

    I honestly dont know why I hate him so irrationally, and so disproportionately to his crimes, so I'm going to try to exorcise that hatred out of myself by talking about it here:

    Is it because he is the footballer that I had always dreamed of being, through all of my deepest fantasies and wildest daydreams? And now that reality has taken hold, and I know that those dreams should never have been mine to dream, I have become bitter and twisted... perhaps my hatred for Ronaldo is just a manifestation of that bitterness?

    Is it because he seems somehow really slimey to me. From the way he walks, to the angles he employs in quiffing his hair, he seems to exudes enough sliminess to start a bloody oil slick.

    Is it because he got Rooney sent off, thus destroying our hopes in a major championship? I can't even remember which tournament that was, but I can still picture the swarmy fucker asking the ref to send off his clubmate.

    Is it because half the women in the world find him irresistible, and I want to experience that feeling, even if only for half a day?

    Is it because he played for Manchester United, and helped them achieve so much? ' Nuff said

    Shit, I need therapy... Is it still 1-1?
