Is it a reasonable assumption that extremist fundamentalist evangelical types are likely to find music haram?

OK, instead of arguing, should we not just play music and sing when we meet them?

What music and songs would people recommend?

Would a modern equivalent of the Pirate radio stations help?  Radio Caroline etc?   parrot

    +1  Afro

It appears that the powers that be at Youtube have taken this vid down but I am very familiar with this song.  It was also used for the opening credits in the movie "Watchmen" (both the movie and the graphic novel it was based on are definitely at the top of my favorites lists.

I wonder what practicing Muslims would make of this kind of music:

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/wTL0t_HHkZI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It is all electronic so there are no stringed instruments (other than the ones sampled for this tune).

     thnkyu

I call this kind of music (Amon Tobin, Aphex Twin) music for Aspies because a) a lot of it has a great tempo you can lose yourself into and b) I can pull parts of the song apart in my head and focus on one element of the song, usually the percussive elements and I can "see" the different elements in my mind's eye and each element has it's own shape and/or color.

Imagine when the call to prayer starts playing the music earlier in this thread at equal volume!
